McAllister also revealed details aboutDays Gone Remastered’s new game mode, Horde Assault, teasing that it will feature significantly larger groups of Freakers, with some hordes exceeding 800 enemies.

Speaking about the PS5 version’s visual upgrades, McAllister noted thatDays Gonewas already a realistic game, but he believes the team has pushed that realism even further with the power of Sony’s current-gen console. Still, the remaster isn’t just about improved visuals. As Bend Studio’s creative and product lead pointed out, it also brings meaningful gameplay enhancements. Hardcore players will also be able to take on a dedicated Speedrun Mode, which tracks playthrough time while automatically excluding cinematics.
