As recently announced on theSaber Support official website, theWorld War ZApril 2025 patch is live as of April 8. It features a heavily reworked Extinction Mode, which can now be unlocked by completing any map on insane difficulty or higher. Extinction Mode also includes two new Episodes to choose from, with rewards for completing them. Additionally, the patch adds seven new mutilators and reworks three existing ones. The update will also introduce new Community Challenges and a bevy of fixes to resolve current issues.

The April patch comes fresh on the heels of the recentWorld War ZJanuary update, which brought quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and additional sound effects and animations. The limited-time Community Challenges introduced in the latest update will offer players impressive rewards, such as the Royal Vengeance Heavy Weapons Skin Pack. While the patch notes didn’t go into detail about the new mutators, some of the names, like Acid Spit, provide a hint as to what they may do.

On top of the new additions and reworks, the April update also seeks to address numerous bugs plaguing the game, including fixing connection issues when starting full-party sessions. In the past,World War Zhas experienced major problems, such as the game crashing and forcing players to do a hard reset to resolve it. This bug was eventually fixed, and the latest swath of fixes aims to smooth out even more kinks in gameplay.
