Patch 11.1.5 is nearly here, bringing several new activities, features, and rewards to the game. BetweenWorld of Warcraft’s new Nightfall scenarioand Flame’s Radiance Renown faction, Horrific Visions Revisited, and several limited-time events, there will be plenty of content for players to enjoy once the update officially goes live.
However, there are some quality-of-life improvements coming in Patch 11.1.5 as well – andWorld of Warcraftjust showcased one of the most exciting ones in a short video on Twitter. The Cooldown Manager is a new optional user interface feature that allows fans to better keep track of their abilities and buffs. Available in the Advanced Options menu, players can adjust the size, padding, opacity, and orientation of multiple hotbars and buff trackers, each of which can be placed around the screen and customized individually. Further specifications can show or hide timers and tooltips, have buttons and bars appear as just an icon or name, and can even set them to only appear while in combat.

Fans whouse add-ons inWorld of Warcraftmay recognize some of these features from WeakAuras, a flexible framework used to implement many quality-of-life interface adaptations. Though similar functions have been available via these mods for many years, having it added to the game natively as a quality-of-life feature is a huge win for players, as it reduces the amount of third-party software they need to worry about while playing the game.
Luckily, the Cooldown Manager is one of the features that will be added to the game at the launch of Patch 11.1.5.Several activities from the newWorld of Warcraftupdatedon’t actually arrive for a month or more after the patch, but the Cooldown Manager will thankfully be usable as soon as the update arrives.
There are plenty of other quality-of-life features coming in this new update as well, including an accessibility option tochange the rarity text color ofWorld of Warcraftitems, an in-game method of renaming guilds, and a bulk purchase button at the Trading Post.
