Just like with every long-running title,World of Warcrafthas had its fair share of ups and downs over the years. Players were impressed by the likes of Wrath of the Lich King and Legion, brought on exciting adventures through The Burning Crusade and Mists of Pandaria, and hit a few bumps during the likes of Warlords of Draenor and Shadowlands. Now, with the release of The War Within, all eyes are onWorld of Warcraftto see if it can deliver on its promised WorldSoul Saga. Luckily, as of now, it seems to be doing exactly that.
Not only didThe War Withinkick off in wonderful fashion, but the expansion’s first major patch has also been a blast to play so far. Players seem to be loving almost everything that it has to offer, with many excited to see where this adventure takes them next. Because of that, it really feels like the perfect time for those that may have been burnt out by previous expansions to make their grand return toWorld of Warcraft. And if Blizzard can keep this up, there is no telling how strong the game will become.

The War Within Has Kicked Off the WorldSoul Saga Wonderfully
It is no secret thatWorld of Warcrafthas had its fair share of issues during the past couple of expansions. While players loved what Blizzard did with Legion, the following two expansions left much to be desired.Battle for Azerothtried juggling way too much, with many feeling like the game quickly became a chore. Shadowlands then took the story in very controversial directions, with its mechanics also feeling lackluster. Luckily, Dragonflight was able to rectify many of those mistakes. And now, The War Within is off to a very promising start.
The War Within marks the beginning of the brand-newWorldSoul Saga, which is going to be comprised of three expansions telling one massive story. Because of that concept, that already makes this expansion the best one to return to for players that may have skipped the last few. This story starts off mostly fresh, forges ahead with entirely new adventures, and many of the mechanics seem to be exactly what fans have been looking for. While it remains to be seen if the next two expansions can continue this trend, it has not disappointed so far.
Undermine(d) Has Expanded it In Fantastic New Ways
With the release of The War Within’s Undermine(d) patch, the experience has only gotten stronger. After years of waiting, players are finally able to explore the goblin city of Undermine. Through that, they are able to forge relationships with the many cartels and get to fight through a story that decides the very fate of the city. On top of that, there are some exciting new mechanics tossed in, with the highlight being thenew D.R.I.V.E system. Plus, all the quests have been a joy to play through.
Undermine(d) is just hitting all the right noteswith the player base, which is great to see after other recent expansions failed to impress. Plus, 11.1.5 looms on the horizon, which is set to expand this chapter even further with a slew of new adventures. After that, there is an extensive roadmap of content just waiting to be released, with even Player Housing finally joining the fray. Couple that with this first exciting patch, and it feels like a great time to re-enter Azeroth.
It remains to be seen ifWorld of Warcraftcan continue to deliver, but even if it cannot, the current content is still a blast to play. So, for those who may have been turned away by previous expansions, it does feel like a great time to come back. And for those who have never touched the game before, the beginning of this brand-new story is also a great time for them to jump in.
