How to Apply for the Marathon Alpha Playtest
Marathon Alpha Playtest Explained:
TheMarathon closed Alpha playtestwill take place fromApril 23–July 10, 2025. Bungienotes that this will be a ‘fairly small playtest,’ noting that while many players will not get to join this time, there will be bigger playtests coming in the near future. According to Bungie, this playtest will mainly focus ontesting technical capabilities and gathering important feedback.
The information on theMarathonAlpha playtest onBungie.netstates that only players that are 18+ and in North America will be eligible.
It is important to remember that the upcomingMarathonAlpha playtestisclosed,which means that entry is not guaranteed. Those players that wish to take part will have to meet several requirements before they are considered, and even then, they may not be invited. However, while they have not been announced, there will likely be public playtests in the future as we get closer to the official release date.
Alpha playtests are often the first time members of the public are able to get their hands on a game, which is why they are often very closely controlled. While it’s noted that somecontent creators and influencers have gotten hands-on withMarathon,this will be the first time general players will get to play.

TheMarathonclosed Alpha playtest will start on May 28, 2025, and continue through July 06, 2025. Participants will be selected at the start of the playtest.
