Vivian is a versatile sub-DPS character inZenless Zone Zero, specializing in off-field damage while amplifying Corruption and Disorder effects through her featherblooms. Her hybrid role combines utility and offense, making her an adaptable choice for various team setups, despite her needing more on-field time incomparison to a character like Burnice. To fully leverage her capabilities, she requires synergy with another Anomaly / Ether agent, which allows her Abloom damage to reach its full potential while activating her Additional Ability.

Players will achieve the best results by using a team composition consistingof two Anomaly charactersand one support character. Ideally, the second Anomaly character should serve as the on-field DPS, while the support unit provides benefits to both characters.Astra Yao is the most synergistic supportoption for all of Vivian’s team setups. However, for players who do not have Astra Yao or wish to assign her to another team, the following Vivian team compositions inZenless Zone Zerowill highlight alternative characters that can effectively fill the support role if needed.

Burnice from her character demo in ZZZ

Robin is an excellent Bangboo choice for all Vivian team compositions, as this Bangboo only needs 1 Mocking Bird Agent to activate its ability. Otherwise, for Astra Yao teams, Snap is another valuable Bangboo option, offering Ether build-up to complement Vivian’s kit despite not being able to activate its additional ability which mainly provides some healing.

Is Burnice Worth Teaming with Vivian?

Given that both Burnice and Vivian primarily excel as off-field characters, pairing them together might result in less effective synergy in most situations. While such a combination could work in certain scenarios, players would generally achieve better results by forming two separate Disorder-oriented teams if they can.

Additionally, some players may consider forming a team with three Anomaly characters, such as Miyabi, Jane, or Yanagi paired with Vivian and Burnice. While this setup is theoretically viable, it has its drawbacks. The internal cooldown (ICD) on Anomaly application across different elements can limit Disorder damage output. Additionally, the lack of a dedicated support character may result in missing out on significant buffs that enhance the effectiveness of the main and sub-DPS units.

Miyabi + Vivian + Astra Yao

That said, this composition might still be worth exploring in specific end-game modes, particularly for players looking to experiment with unique strategies. While it may not be the most optimal setup, it could provide some creative opportunities to handle challenging scenarios in unconventional ways.

Vivian + Miyabi + Astra Yao

Miyabi thrives in teams that include sub-DPS Anomaly characters, making Vivian an excellent partner for ensuring consistent damage output. This synergy is particularly effective for players who either lack access to Burnice or prefer to allocate her to other team compositions. With bothVivian and Astra Yao being Ether users, players can seamlessly build Ether and Ice Anomalies on enemies without worrying about Disorder ICD, maximizing their elemental efficiency.

Astra Yao’s universal buffs and Quick Assist capabilities further enhance this team setup, allowing fluid swaps between her and Vivian to maintain Feather stacks. For players without Astra Yao, Soukaku or Nicole are viable alternatives for the support role. Soukaku’s ability to boost Ice Anomaly build-up with ATK and Ice buffs makes her an ideal option for optimizing Miyabi’s performance in this composition, however Nicole will be a better general option in Vivian teams where players don’t have an S-Rank Support agent for the Ether synergy.

Jane Doe + Vivian + Caesar

Vivian + Jane + Caesar

As noted previously, Astra Yao is undoubtedly the ideal support unit for nearly all Vivian team setups, enhancing synergy and enabling efficient gameplay. However, players using Jane as their main DPS, who specializes in Assault and Disorder, may findCaesar to be a suitable alternativesupport option. Jane is particularly effective against enemies with Physical weakness, offering versatility for those who prefer different setups or need to reallocate characters like Astra Yao elsewhere.

While Caesar may not contribute significantly to building Anomaly, his ATK buffs and shielding abilities provide valuable survivability for the team. These benefits reduce the need for constant dodging and allow players to focus more on maximizing their damage output. Overall, the synergy between Vivian and Jane mirrors that of Vivian and Miyabi, making both compositions solid choices for Anomaly-focused teams.

Yanagi + Vivian + Rina

Vivian + Yanagi + Rina

Yanagi proves to be another excellent on-field Anomaly character to pair with Vivian inZenless Zone Zero, as her Disorder-focused gameplay and balanced mix of on-field and off-field presence complement Vivian’s style and rotation effectively. Together, theycreate a dynamic synergythat allows for consistent damage output and efficient handling of enemy anomalies. Yanagi’s adaptability in rotations aligns well with Vivian’s hybrid playstyle, ensuring smooth transitions between their roles during combat.

For teams without Astra Yao as the support unit, Rina offers a strong alternative, especially if players have unlocked her M1 to extend her off-field capabilities. Rina’s Pen Ratio buffs benefit both Vivian and Yanagi, enhancing their overall damage potential, while also contributing to Electric Anomaly build-up. While Rina requires more frequent swaps to maintain her buffs, this aligns well with Vivian and Yanagi’s gameplay, as they are not hindered by frequent character rotations, making the composition cohesive and effective.

Piper + Vivian + Nicole

Vivian + Piper + Nicole

Players aiming to build teams with Vivian andnon-premium characterscan consider Piper or Grace as viable alternatives. Piper can replace Jane, while Grace can fill in for Yanagi in content that benefits from their respective elements. However, due to their less powerful multipliers compared to Jane or Yanagi, players should anticipate investing more resources in Piper or Grace to achieve similar damage output.

For support roles, both Nicole and Lucy are solid choices, each offering distinct advantages. Nicole contributes crowd control, defense reduction, Ether build-up, and Ether damage increase, which is especially valuable if most of the team’s damage is centered around Vivian. On the other hand, Lucy provides attack boosts and Fire Anomaly build-up, requiring less active management than Nicole. Players can select between these two options based on their playstyle, preferred Mindscapes, or their level of investment in the characters' builds and skills.
