Nevrons inClair Obscur: Expedition 33are the monsters that are mostly hostile towards the expeditioners, although some do appear to have intelligence and can speak with humans. There are plenty of powerful Nevrons on the continent, especially those with the Chromatic tag. However, there are even grander beings with a greater amount of Chroma called anAxon. These creatures are far larger than the usual Nevrons, and more powerful too.
To progress through the main story, players must beat two Axons,Sirene and Visages. While Sirene relies on applying the Charm debuff and summoning Ballet dancers to deal damage, the Visages hide behind different masks thatmaskdifferent movesets. How To Beat Visages (Mask Keeper) In Expedition 33
Visages inExpedition 33is one of the two Axons players must beat to create a weapon that can break the barrier. When players arrive at the Axon’s island, the Mask Keeper will come and send them an invitation straight to the Visages' home. The team will suspect that it’s a trap,which it is.It’s better not to head straight to the boss and instead go through the other routes first.
There are four main routes in Visages. The road leading to the Axon is the one that aligns with the Gestral trader when you’re facing the Rest Point flag from the entrance.
Before You Accept The Axon’s Invitation
If players go straight to the boss area,the boss fight will be harder as the Axon will have all the masks intact. The three masks: Joy, Anger, and Sadness, will assist the boss by healing, buffing, and debuffing. Therefore, before you accept the Visages' invitation, verify todestroy all three masks first.
Enter the three other routes, and players will find a mask that acts like an elevator, transporting them to a new area. After finding the giant mask, choose the correct answer to trigger the fight.The correct answer corresponds to the mask’s emotion.
Visages (Mask Keeper) Boss Guide In Expedition 33
There are two phases in the Visages' boss fight inExpedition 33. In Phase 1, the expeditioners will battleVisages, the Axon-like giant, while in Phase 2, players will face the true Axon, theMask Keeper. Before starting the battle, it’s a good idea to prepare Dark and Fire attacks through Skills, Pictos, Lumina, orweapons inExpedition 33, as both bosses areweak to Dark and Fire.
Defeating the boss will reward players with:
Phase 1 - Visages
In Phase 1, Visages will summon different masks through a mirror, which willgive them different attacks and effects. You candestroy the mask by hitting the glowing eyes, which will cause it not to be summoned again by the Visages.
If you destroy all the masks, Visages willself-destructto unleash its ultimate move, which will put all characters on 1 HP upon hit.It’s not recommended to do this as it may hurt in the second Phase. Instead, players can use the mask-breaking mechanics todestroy the mask with tricky attacksand keep the mask with hits that are easy to dodge. Keeping fewer varieties of masks will also be less confusing, as there are fewer moves to anticipate.

Determination
Smash from above, swipe on the ground, then smash from above again.
Visages gain Shield on each hit.
Anxiety
Explodes twice with a slight delay. A distinct sound cue is available before the explosion.
Applyan Exhaust debuffon the team upon hit.
Doubt
Swipe the ground four times consecutively, then smash the weapon from above after a short delay.

Heal the boss upon hit.
When you’re close to defeating the Visages, make sure toget ready for Phase 2byhealing and refilling your AP, as there won’t be a break in between the phases.
Phase 2 - Mask Keeper
After beating the Visages inExpedition 33, players will immediately face the Mask Keeper, who is revealed to be the real Axon. If you’ve previously destroyed the three masks on the island, the boss will fight alone, but if you haven’t, then the surviving mask will be summoned to the battle.
There are four distinct moves that players need to look out for in the Mask Keeper boss fight inExpedition 33, which are:
Attack the expedition
Attack the entire teamfour times.
ApplyBounddebuff upon hit, which prevents Dodging. This forces the team touse Parry to avoid damage. This debuff can be cleansed.
Attack the expedition vehemently
Surrounded by defensive aura
Gains Shield for each blow dealt to an expeditioner.
The Mask Keeper can stack a ton of Shield on his AoE hits.Make sure not to use a single-hit or powerful hit to break the Shield. Instead, use Free Aim Shots, multi-hit Skills, Skills that destroy Shields, or Skills that ignore Shields.
Sets fire to his sword
Infuse his weapon with fire, hit three times, then perform aGradient Attack.
Gains Powerful, Shell, and Speed
Gains the corresponding buffs.
The boss will hit harder, take less damage, and be faster. ensure to be careful when the boss has all of these buffs.
