Undead Unluckconcluded a few weeks ago, and the final volume will have lots of bonus content, much more than fans could ever expect. The series gained more popularity after an anime adaptation aired on Japanese TV andHulu/Disney+from October 2023 to March 2024.
Undead Unluckwas one ofShonen Jump’s “niche hits” — a series that doesn’t sell tremendously well, but sells well enough to keep running for some time. While the manga has ended, fans can still look forward to the next installments of the anime series.
Volumes 26 and 27will be released in Japan on June 12, 2025. While there is no information on potential bonus content for Volume 26, the official series account on X (formerly Twitter) announced thatthe epilogue featured in Volume 27 will be divided into five chapters. The first chapter is titled “Unsung Hero.” These are all never-before-seen bonus chapters.
This epilogue is probably thespecial story that was announced a few weeks ago, after the series concluded serialization inShonen Jump. Additionally, a new novelwill be released on the same day.
While it is common for final volumes to include bonus content, it is not common for them to have this much new content. VIZ Media hasn’t yet announced a release date for the English versions of these volumes.
Fans areexpectingUndead Unluck Season 2to be announced this year, but there has been no official news confirming that it has been greenlit so far. However, a 1-hour special animewith an original storywill air later this year, so there may be news about Season 2 after the special content is released. It will be written by creator Yoshifumi Tozuka.
Based on the information provided so far, it is likely that this special anime will be set between Season 1 and Season 2, showing what happened between the battle against the “Autumn UMA” and the battle against “Winter”. Unfortunately, the release date has yet to be announced.
Some fans also hope thatTozuka will eventually work on a sequel seriesto the original manga, but so far it is only speculation.
