Since the release ofTwo Point Hospitalback in 2018, Two Point Studios has quickly become one of the biggest names in the business simulation space. Not only did it expand that game considerably with post-launch content, but it also took the concept toTwo Point CampusandTwo Point Museum. Each game has brought players to new businesses, expanded theTwo Pointmechanics, and delivered hours of content to enjoy. Now thatTwo Point Museumhas hit store shelves, one wonders what the studio will do next, and it feels like that next chapter is already being laid out.
While the focus ofTwo Point Museumis on gathering relics and making the best museum possible, there also seem to be some features that are suspiciously similar to that of managing a zoo. Nothing has been announced yet, but ifTwo Point Studios were to take those featuresand expand them considerably, then it could have all the makings of a fantastic zoo management experience, so long as it maintains the charm of what came before.
It’s Time for Two Point Studio to Take On the Zoo Concept
Two Point Museum Has Already Dabbled in the World of Zoos
As players progress throughTwo Point Museum, they will unlock a couple of exhibit types that require them to manage the needs of living beings. One of the biggest comesin the form ofTwo Point Museum’s aquarium, which requires players to collect all sorts of fish and ensure that they have everything they need to thrive. Certain fish cannot be housed together, and they all have specific needs that need to be addressed, so players have to put in some legwork to verify their fish don’t die off. Additionally, they must spend time ensuring that these aquariums are fun to look at, because otherwise guests will just pass them by.
Aquariums may be the most zoo-like featureTwo Point Museumhas, but there are also a couple more that use similar mechanics. For starters,Two Point Museumplayers can also build supernatural exhibitsfilled with ghosts. Just like fish, these ghosts also have various needs to be filled in to ensure that they are happy. If they are not happy, they may cause some issues throughout the museum. If players would rather avoid ghosts, the game’s botany exhibits also require similar levels of micromanagement, in a simpler form than the other two.
A Two Point Zoo Game Seems Like the Logical Next Step
All of theseTwo Point Museumexhibits really do feel like the beginnings of a zoo-focused game. Of course,if Two Point Studios were to deliver a zoo simulator, then it would need to expand these features considerably, but across these past three games, it has shown that it knows how to craft very different simulation experiences. With that in mind, there’s little reason to think the studio couldn’t expand these features.
A Two Point Zoo could be a fantastic evolution of the franchise, and through the unique art style, it could be a fresh take on zoo sims. Ever sinceZoo Tycoonfaded into obscurity, simulation fans have been looking for a new zoo game to turn to. A few indie games have tried to step up to the plate, and Frontier Development alsoattempted its own withPlanet ZooandJurassic World Evolution, but so far, nothing has quite filled that void. Two Point Studios could be the ones to get the job done, especially since the franchise was built on fillingTheme Hospital’s void.
SinceTwo Point Museumonly just launched, it will likely be a little bit before players get a look at what Two Point Studios has planned next. But, through that game, it does feel like the studio is dabbling in zoo-like mechanics, so hopefully it is considering taking those to the next level. Even if it simply comes as DLC forTwo Point Museum, a Two Point Zoo feels like a must.
