Summary

The Japanese anime industry holds the crown when it comes to delivering ground-breaking animation in their TV shows.Anime shows likeDemon SlayerandJujutsu Kaisenhave set a high standard for the animation industry worldwide. And more recently, the anime community feasted upon the incredible animation inSolo LevelingSeason 2.

A-1 Pictures carved its name on the stone by doing an incredible job in the second season ofSolo Leveling. Jeju Island, specifically, has been one of the best things the anime community has witnessed in 2025 so far. However, like all good things,Solo LevelingSeason 2also came to an end after giving us thirteen banger episodes. Surprisingly, though, a new Chinese animated series is slowly but surely filling the space thatSolo Levelingleft wide open after the second season’s conclusion. Not only that, but the stunning animation in this latest series also makes it clear that China is all set to give tough competition to the Japanese animation industry.

The Latest Animated Series Is Based On A Manhua

Super Cubeisbased on a Chinese Comic (Manhua) by Shuiluo Sheng Shengand is being produced by Big Firebird Cultural Media, iQIYI Animation, and Kuaikan Manhua. The plot of the animated series is extremelysimilar to that ofSolo Leveling. We see a normal young boy, Wang Xiaoxiu, who wanted to lead a normal life and create a good romantic relationship with his childhood crush. However, Wang’s life takes rather super-heroic turn when the boy goes through a near-death experience andstumbles upon a “Superhuman Cube,” a technology possibly created by an advanced civilization.

This Cube communicates with Wang and calls him Master, which means it serves the boy and wants him to get stronger. Wang instantly getsexposed to a new range of superhuman abilities, including teleportation, increased strength, speed, and intelligence. However, the Cube doesn’t make Wang the strongest being in the universe in one-go. Instead, this system suggests Wang to collect different forms of gems or stones to level up in power.Eventually, Wang comes across other powerful humans who pose a threat to his girlfriend, Shen Yao. As expected, this leads to a series of stylized battles inSuper Cube, which, honestly, are so well animated that they helped the series break out among anime fans.

The artistic style of animation made everyone fall in love withSuper Cubein the very first episode. However, it was the seventh episode of the series that made it impossible for anime fans to ignore the brilliance of Chinese animation. Thefight choreography in Wang’s fight with Chu Mushan was beyond our imaginations. The camera work, voice acting, hand-to-hand combat, and, of course, the animation — everything about the episode was simply A-Tier. It wasn’t a short fight either. In fact, the entire seventh episode ofSuper Cubewas an uninterrupted fight sequence. The episode made it impossible for fans to take their eyes off the screen throughout its runtime. It’s without a doubt one of thebest animations we’ve seen in 2025so far, and fans can’t wait to see whatSuper Cubehas in store for them next.

Solo Levelingsurprised the anime fandom with its amazingly hyped action sequences in Season 2. And fans who loved seeing Jinwoo leveling up to eventuallydefeat a powerful entity like the Ant Kingwould definitely loveSuper Cube. The Chinese anime series features an equally impressive, if not better, animation style. Like Jinwoo, Wang is also someone whoneeds to level up to eventually become the strongest being, or as the Cube calls it — The King of the World.
