Rosamund Pike, an actress and producer of the show, spoke aboutThe Wheel of Time’sstatus after Season 3. Pike plays the role of Moraine Damodred, a powerful Aes Sedai and one of the key characters in the show. She was recently asked how many seasons had been planned for the show since if it were up to the audience, they would want more. It appeared that there was no definite plan and the decision was up to the streaming giant. Pike said:
Well, we hope. It’s in the hands of Amazon at the moment, you know. They haven’t yet greenlit Season 4.
Pike hopes the series will be renewed for more seasons because of its potential. She even said Amazon was “lucky” to have it becauseThe Wheel of Timeis unique. “It’s a big show for them, but as I keep saying, there’s no other property like ‘The Wheel of Time’ out there available,” Pike explained. “There are very few of these truly global fantasy IPs, and Amazon and Sony are incredibly lucky to have this one.” Aside from Amazon benefiting from the show, Pike wants more seasons for the audience because she believes they “deserve it.” There’s still more to tell since it’s based on 14 books and Season 3 is just based on the fourth tome, “The Shadow Rising.” She hoped that the show would continue so that fans, both those who loved the books and only watched the show, would see more of their journey. Additionally, Pike believed the book deserved it, as did the actors involved in the show.
The Wheel of Timenovel series is epic and vast, with over a dozen source materials available. The TV show has just begun exploring its rich lore and major events. There’s plenty of content left to adapt because the book is very detailed. Fans want to see the other worlds mentioned in the book, including Aiel Waste, the Seanchan Empire, the Blight, and more. Also, as one watches the show, it becomes more enticing. As more characters unlock their abilities, the story becomes more dramatic and visually appealing.
