Summary
Five weeks and seven episodes later, Season 3 ofThe Wheel of Timeaired its final episode on Prime Video and concluded with a thunderous clash of fates, choices, and betrayals. As threads of prophecy tightened around Rand and his allies, old loyalties were tested, and new alliances forged in fire. The finale didn’t just end a chapter—it shifted the very balance of power in the world.
The penultimate episode of thePrime Videoseries saw Perrin and co. leading the Two Rivers to victory against Trollocs and the Dark Friend, Padan Fain. It showcased how much brutality takes place on a battlefield. On the other hand, it also showed how there’s still hope in this world and why people like Perrin and Loial are important. But the finale is different and features some really shocking narratives coming forward. So, let’s take a look at what happened inThe Wheel of TimeSeason 3 finale.
How was Siuan chosen to sit in the Amyrlin Seat?
The episode starts with a flashback sequence 10 years ago in Tar Valon, where Elaida is asking for the White Ajahs to support her so that she could be at the Amyrlin Seat. The voting began, and it seemed like Siuan was going to lose the election. However, the White Ajahs announce their support for Siuan, and as soon as they do that, the other Ajahs also announce their support. In the end, Siuan wins it. In the present day, Siuan has declared support for Dragon Reborn and wants other Aes Sedai to support her decision as well. However, Elaida is trying hard to garner support, pass a resolution against Siuan, and capture Dragon Reborn. Siuan gets to know that some of the Aes Sedai have left the tower, which would hurt her chances of winning the vote. So, she orders some of her allies to follow them and bring them back.
Rand al’Thor finally knows Lanfear’s true identity and her plans
Meanwhile, Moiraine meets Sammael, who has been captured by them, and asks about the things he has done in the past. Moiraine tells him that he will teach Rand about war strategies, and if he doesn’t do that, Moiraine will bury him to the ground, and by the time songs are written about the last battle, his name will be forgotten. On the other hand, Rand meets Lanfear in her dreams and talks about the surprise she sent for him. Moreover, she asks Rand about why he chose this place. Rand said that this is the same place where their world crashed, and Lanfear set free the Dark One. He also noted that this was the last time she was truly human. Lanfear noted that she was making Egwene stronger, and when Rand confronted her about her allegiance to the Dark One, she said that, at the time, she supported the Dark One because there was no other option for her.
Lanfear noted that the last Dragon Reborn left her because she wouldn’t bow down to him. To this, Rand replied, “No, he left you for the same reason I’m leaving you now.” He told her that he had finally seen her true nature and how monstrous she really is. Rand then pushes her away, and just then,Egwene enters the dream and helps push Lanfearout completely. It turns out that both Rand and Egwene were dreamwalking. When they return to the real world, they wait for Lanfear to come after them. But when she doesn’t, Moiraine warns them not to let their guard down, saying they shouldn’t underestimate Lanfear. She insists they leave the place immediately. Meanwhile, Lanfear does show up—but instead of going after Rand and Egwene, she meets Melindhra and asks her to repay the debt she owes.
Liandrin gets the second bracelet, while Nynaeve and the team look out for the collar
Liandrin’s supporters finally know that she has killed Naomi. Liandrin says that she killed her because she tried to challenge her. Meanwhile, Moghedien finally meets Liandrin and gives her the bracelet that she took from Elayne and Nynaeve. All she needed now was the collar, and she didn’t waste any time in finding it. To find the collar, Liandrin and her supporters entered a building.
Conversely, Nynaeve, Min, Mat, and Elayne enter the same building to find the collar before Liandrin and the other Black Ajahs. Inside the building, Elyane and Thom are looking for the collar when Thom tells her that he knew her when she was little. While talking, Elayne asks if he left right before Gabriel arrived in their kingdom. Thom was clueless about Gabriel and said that he had kept an eye on the court for years, and he would have known ifGabriel arrived there as a consort. Their conversation is cut short when they get into a fight with one of the Black Ajahs, and that’s when Thom tells Elayne that he made a promise to her mother long ago that he’d keep her safe. But he made it clear to her that Gabriel is not a good person, and whatever she remembers is all that he put in her head. He tells her that Gabriel is one of the forsaken and her mother is in danger. Despite being told to leave, Elayne returns to help Thom and kill the Black Ajah.
Liandrin was still trying to find the collar, but things were now getting on her nerves. However, it seems Nynaeve has finally got hold of the collar and has kept it in her bag. They both meet each other at the gate of the building, and even though Nynaeve tries telling her not to do something evil, Liandrin uses her powers to take the bag out of Nynaeve’s hands, chain her, and throw her into the sea. But Nynaeve used her powers and controlled them precisely to unshackle her and get out of the sea.
Elsewhere, Mat gets teleported to another dimension when he crosses a mysterious doorway and meets Eelfinn, who asks him about his needs. During the conversation, Eelfinn keeps asking about Mat’s needs. Mat asks Eelfinn to fix him. Eelfinn, with a smile on his face, says “done” before asking Mat about his last need. His last need was to get out of this place and return to the building where they were searching for the collar. Before letting him go, Eelfinn tells him about the price that would be paid for all the wishes he had granted. As soon as he returns to the building, he finds a rope around his neck, in the same exact way that Min saw in her visions. Although it looked like Mat was dead, Min was finally able to save her. However, Mat tells her that his mind was finally free of every nightmare or vision, but he couldn’t understand what was happening to him.
Siuan’s reign is in danger as Elaida proves to be more influential, while Rand gets ready for the trial
Rand and Moiraine talk to each other, and Rand asks her about everything that has happened to him in the past few days or weeks. Moiraine finally confessed that she assistedLanfear in creating some roadblocksso that she could see if Rand was able to control his powers. Moreover, she admits that this trial is a good thing for them because they could use an army in the final battle. Rand thanked Moiraine for her assistance throughout this period and got ready for the trial.
At the same time, a search party reaches the woods and sees the remaining members of the Red Ajahs sitting on the ground. When they were told to get back to the tower, the Red Ajahs said that the Amyrlin Seat could stop them from doing their duty. When they ask about what their duty might be, the Red Ajahs say, “to keep you out of the tower,” meaning this was all planned by Elaida. On the other hand, it’s time for Rand’s trial, and Moiraine is keeping an eye on him from afar so that Lanfear doesn’t come, and if she does, she has to fight Moiraine before spoiling everything.
The finale ofThe Wheel of TimeSeason 3was the perfect mix of good storytelling, epic visuals, and great action. Some moments might divide viewers, but the way they have been depicted in the series is marvelous. From intimate character confrontations to large-scale battles, the finale delivered emotional weight without losing sight of its grand scale. The performances, especially by Rosamund Pike, Sophie Okonedo, and Josha Stradowski, anchored the chaos with raw intensity. While not every twist will please book purists, the show’s bold choices speak to a confident vision. It’s a finale that dares to challenge—and rewards those who stay till the end.
