What To Expect In House Of The Dragon Monopoly

The board, of course, is completely themed around the world of HBO’sHouse of the Dragon. Community Chest (the Targaryen sigil) and Chance (a dragon skull) cards are labeled as Fire & Blood and Ash & Bone here. All the purchasable spots on the board are castles, cities, or various other landmarks from locations throughout Westeros and Essos. And instead of houses and hotels, you’ll populate properties with dragon eggs and dragons. Because, apparently, five dragon eggs make for one actual dragon.

As far as tokens go, each of the six options is themed around the high houses of Westeros. Choose what you’d like when you play, but anything other than House Black is sacrilege, in my opinion. Here’s a breakdown of the included families and the tokens representing them:

Monopoly House of the Dragon Edition Board Game - Coins

There’s no cash in Westeros, of course. TheHouse of the Dragonseries takes place in a historical era where only coins are used as currency. So the Monopoly House of the Dragon Edition utilizes Targaryan dragon-themed money instead to match the universe it’s portraying. The set includes 102 pieces. And just as a typical Monopoly game states, the last player with the remaining coins will rule all of the Seven Kingdoms.

It’s not just the board and pieces that are impressive, though. Hasbro went out of its way to make the Monopoly House of the Dragon box impressive, too. It features sculptured embossing with a spot UV gloss that makes the design pop. So even when it’s not in use, the cool Monopoly set will look impressive just hanging out decoratively on a shelf.
