Summary

InUFC 5, nothing is more frustrating than making a build, especially at low prestige, as players must accept that their created fighter is hyper-specialized and/or has clear weaknesses. Moreover, they need to acknowledge that others who fight in the lighter weight division are creating characters that look like Shamil Gaziev, but move like prime Karate-stance Connor McGregor. It’s difficult, to say the least.

However, there are ways to combat spam players and those who invest all their evolution points into punching power and throw in the pocket. Here’s how to make a fighter that is specialized but not weak, and can follow the point distribution seen in the images, learn what they should prioritize, and what they can change. Further, the perks, the best posture, advantages, and disadvantages will be broken down for each build.

Description

Like Glue

Initiates, advances, and counters more easily when grappling on the feet.

Improved submission defense in bottom positions.

Nightmare

Boosts a fighter’s Grapple Defense whenever they are in a bottom ground position.

Out The Gates

Strikes consume less stamina during rounds 1 and 2.

This build offers solid takedowns, striking, and, of course, submissions!UFC 5has many routes to submissions, such as on the ground, standing,or flying submissions, making Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (BJJ) feel more dynamic than ever. The investment in striking allows players to keep up on their feet and end it there, if need be. The perks,Like Glue,Crafty,Nightmare,Work Horse, andOut The Gate, allow players to pressure early, be dominant in wrestling exchanges, and enforce their submission game, while resisting the submissions of others.Players can end fights by submissionthrough chaining submissions. However, it is easier to win viasubmission through having the stamina advantage, which can be accomplished by attacking the body and denying transitions. This build requires a lot of evolution points. Some aspects can be ignored, like ground striking, to alleviate the expenditure.

Strengths

Weaknesses

This build is not beginner-friendly. To get the most out of this build, players need to learn legacy controls, which can be incredibly esoteric and overwhelming in online games. Alternatively, players can invest in kick power instead of being takedown or punch-heavy, as knees to the body are great at sapping stamina. It’s also possible to get rid of clinch striking for something else if players are not clinch-heavy grapplers or need extra points somewhere, like stand-up. Continue investing in submissions, takedowns, health, punches, bottom game, takedown and submission defense, and possibly kicks.

Roundhouse and switch kicks are faster and more accurate.

Straight, superman, and spinning punches are faster and more accurate.

Hooks, uppercuts, and overhands are faster and more accurate.

Kickboxing is arguably the most dynamic martial art. Like boxing, it boasts a low-skill floor and high-skill ceiling. Kickboxers blend powerful punches with a diverse arsenal of kicks: leg, body, teep, and head strikes punish players attempting to close the distance and tag them on entry. The perksOut The Gate,Fast Hands,Marathoner,Crazy Legs, andLaser Focusmake punch-kick combos easier to land and less stamina-intensive. Better punches aid in setting up kicks, and the conserved stamina can be used to pressure, slip, and pivot. However, unlike boxing, kickboxing is more evolution point-intensive.Players must invest in all aspects of stand-up fightingor find themselves very limited.

This build is beginner-friendly and offers a variety of versatile punches and kicks. Players can build their fighter as a counter striker, with perks likeUntouchable. They should continue investing in their kicks, punches, head movement, footwork, health, bottom game, submission, and takedown defense. Avoid wasting pointson flashy kicks. Instead, prioritize the flying knee, front body kicks, oblique kicks, and the axe kick, as they are practical and safe, if players do not spam them. Prioritize improving kicks and punches, accuracy, footwork, and head movement, while spending points on their takedown and submission defense, bottom game, and health.

Players who struggle with wrestlers or want added takedown defense can useTo Your Feet.

Power takedowns do more damage.

Wrestle Clinic

Boosts a fighter’s Grapple Defense whenever they are in a top general position.

Grinder

Use less stamina when grappling on the feet.

For all the players sent to go “2-3 years Dagestan and forget.“Wrestling is more dynamicand DC-inducing than ever, with plenty of ways to take opponents to the ground, whether by tripping in a collar tie, judo throws, reversals, or just plain shooting in the open. The perksWork Horse,Slam Boost,Like Glue,Grinder, andWrestle Clinicenhance the players' wrestling on their feet and on the ground. It makes them oppressive once they have their opponent on the ground, and it exposes fighters with poor takedown defense as they can be forced to sit and watch, as they are smashed into the canvas for 5-minute rounds. This build is extremely evolution point-hungry. However, players can ignore kicks and submissions to alleviate that somewhat.

This build is more intermediate, as players who want to wrestle will need to practice, so they know all their options and utilize them effectively. Alternatively, they could invest more in submissions, too, but doing so may leave them limited on their feet. So, only spare the evolution points when possible. Players should continue to invest in and prioritize their takedown offense, stand-up, top game, ground striking, clinch work, bottom game, health, takedown, and submission defense.

Blocks more effectively when standing still or moving forward.

Untouchable

Sways while moving backwards or sideways evade more effectively.

Arguably, the most enjoyable way to play and the one with the lowest skill floor. This build requires players to invest their evolution points into stand-up and health primarily, with a few points into their grappling’s “bottom game” for escaping. Those using this build should neglect their kicking game (unless they want calf kicks, then kick power is a good investment), as it will just make the character a worse kickboxer, and the base kicks are powerful enough to knock out opponents. A good principle at low prestige is to leverage the strengths and minimize distractions. The perks follow this principle:Bulldog,Fast Hands,Out The Gate,Laser Focus, andUntouchableenhance strikes, better cardio, blocking, and make it easier to evade and slip strikes, with the goal being toget the knockout early.

This build excels asa beginner-friendly build, while being fun and practical in higher-level play. The meta is fast boxing, so players will find most fights will remain standing, outside of panic wrestling. They should continue investing points in their punches, accuracy, health, footwork, head movement, takedown, submission defense, and bottom game as needed. Avoid wasting points on unnecessary flashy punches and elbows, like the “cage Superman punches” or “spinning elbows.” The “Superman jab"or"Superman punch"can close distances and is more practical, so invest in it and/or the"lead overhand.”

Predatoris a required perk for higher punch power, and players can use the Superman punch or jab to close distances and punish kicks!
