1Bairon Wykes (Codename Thunderlord)

The Strongest Lance (Allegedly)

InThe Beginning After The End, most Lances are Deviants: mages that use sub-elements or derivatives of the main elements to create their own signature magic, and among those, Bairon Wykes is the most powerful of them all. Nicknamed The Thunderlord for a very good reason, his Lightning magic is capable of obliterating thousands of foes.

It is said that he has the fastest reaction and mana channeling speeds of Dicathen, and can project and hurl magic even before the enemy can blink. His destructive power is so notorious that other Lances fear facing him in direct combat, so he remains undisputed. When Arthur figured out he was the elder half-brother of Lukas Wykes, he knew there would be trouble for him and his friends. Fortunately, Bairon seemed to be too focused on the survival of Dicathen and serving the Alliance topay attention toTBATE’s main character.

2Varay Aurae (Codename Zero)

The Most Powerful Water Mage In Dicathen

Varay Aurae is the most notorious Water Deviant Mage and the only being capable of standing toe-to-toe with the most powerful Lance of Dicathen. Standing nearly on equal ground with Bairon Wykes in terms of casting speed and raw power, she is a specialized control mage that can freeze the entire battlefield in a brink.

Perhaps her most incredible technique is her capability of covering herself in a battle armor made entirely of pure Ice Mana, which turns her foes to shreds the second she enters contact with them and freezes everything else around as she waltzes through the battlefield. Her code name is due to her capability to reduce the temperature of the air around her in an instant, freezing everything and everyone.A powerful lady with an even colder heart. That is why she is feared both by enemies and allies.

3Aya Grephin (Codename Phantasm)

Silent And Deadly, You’ll Never See Her Coming

Little is known about Aya Greiphin, except that she had a special relationship with another of the Lances, Alea Triscan, before joining the Alliance of the Dicathen Continent as a Lance of the Elven Kingdom. Aya’s own signature magic allows her to cancel all the noise in a room, creating the illusion of her appearing out of nowhere. Her Deviant Magic is considered the most lethal weapon in the Dicathen army.

Aya can interrupt the air flow with her wind magic, which confuses the opponent’s senses and makes her nearly undetectable. She can also create very feasible illusions of herself, adding a powerful tool to her training as an Assassin. After the death of Alea Triscan, she became colder and more ruthless, and her power grew out of hatred. She has displayed the ability to create knives with compressed air, which are unstoppable and invisible. She can even control the air flow of the lungs of her enemies, killing them before they can notice what is going on. Still, she keeps a cool and collected demeanor, and nothing will stop her from collecting her blood debt.

4Arthur Leywyn (Codename Godspell)

He Might Look Young, But Inside, He Is A Grizzled Veteran With Tremendous Power

The path to Arthur Leywyn’s ascension into one of Dicathen’s Lances was carved with regret, loss, and the blood of some of his most precious friends. When Arthur expressed his desire to join the frontlines of the Alliance army, he did so,abandoning all hopes for a peaceful life. His second chance to have love and family was completely obliterated by the invasion of the Vritra.

Highly motivated and carrying the experience of two lifetimes on the battlefield, Arthur Leywyn is the Lance with the most growth potential. He had the opportunity to transcend humanity and become an Archon by training with the Asura, which also empowered his already top-notch skills. As a tri-elemental deviant, he is capable of harnessing the power of Gravity, Lightning, and Ice Magic, but not at the level of other Lances. So, his main strengths remain his versatility and relentlessness in battle.

5Mica Earthborn (Codename Ohmwrecker)

Petite And Dangerous, Better Move Out Of Her Way

Mica Earthborn was born in the core of a Dwarven noble family, and she was raised with care and pampered. This doesn’t mean she didn’t put out the necessary effort to be considered one of the most proficient Earth Mages in the Kingdom. Her signature Deviant Magic led her to become one of the two Dwarven Lances, alongside her lifetime rival, Olfred.

Mica’s empoweredattacks with Gravity magicallow her to manipulate the ground around her, and she uses it to create huge weapons to reduce her foes to splinters. Despite her low stature, she is the physically strongest of all Lances. Though her magic is considered top-notch among Dwarves, she cannot rival other Lances like Aya and Bairon.

6Alea Triscan (Codename Aureate)

Her Magic Was Unique Even Among Lances

Alea was one of the two lances selected by the Elven Kingdom to represent them in the Dicathen Alliance, and her powerful magic involved the combination of Earth and Water to control Plants. It was the first Lance to approach Arthur and form a bond with him. She was caring, friendly, and loved nature. She also had a strong bond with Aya Grephin, the other Elven Lance.

Her powerful magic not only allowed her to control the battlefield at a near godlike level but granted her regenerative properties that she used to protect and heal her allies. When she was ambushed by the Vritra forces, she held back their invasion and was able to repel them by herself at the cost of losing her life. Arthur was the one who found her dying in a dungeon and held her hand until she drew her last breath. Her sacrifice was a powerful motivator for Arthur, and this allowed him to decide to join the frontlines, taking her Mantle as the new Elven Lance.

7Olfred Warend (Codename Balrog)

The Weakest Of The Lances, But The Smartest Of Them All

Bulky and headstrong, Olfred looks like the typical Dwarf, but that’s where the stereotype ends and the real man begins. He is focused, a book connoisseur, and well educated, despite his low-born origins. Olfred’s signature magic allows him to control Magma and create barriers that are far stronger than what a regular Earth magician can accomplish.

But his strength doesn’t only reside in his absolute control over the Earth and Fire elements, but also in his intellectual capabilities and political expertise. This allowed him to infiltrate the highest echelons of the Dicathen Army, and ascend into one of the two Drwarven Lances. He and Mica never saw eye to eye, and they often quarreled over the prettiest of reasons. He was one of the two suspected spies of the Vritra, and turned out to be the one responsible for sending LanceTriscan into a trap. Ultimately, her friend Aya took revenge and killed Olfred in the most painful of ways.
