When you’re on the mission to catch every fish inStardew Valley, you’ll come across a few unique fish that are truly hard to catch. These are theLegendary Fish, which are the ultimate test of your fishing skills in the valley. Each Legendary Fish has a specific location, season, weather condition, and minimum Fishing Level requirement that you need to reach before you can catch them.
You can only catch each Legendary Fish once per save file (or once per player in a multiplayer game). If you lose it or cook it, it’s gone for good. This gives you a good idea of howlegendarythey really are. This guide breaks down exactly how you can catch all of theLegendary Fish inStardew Valley.

To successfully catch theAngler, head to the river inPelican Town inStardew Valley, specifically the area north of JojaMart. You need to have aFishing Level of at least 3. The most reliable spot is standing on the wooden plank bridge that crosses the river in this area. Cast your fishing line into the river from the bridge or the shoreline immediately north of it.
You don’t need to cast particularly far; the Angler can be caught anywhere in this stretch of the river as long as you’re standing in the right spot. Lastly, it is important to keep in mind that there’s no specific time or weather requirement tocatch the Angler inStardew Valley, and it can be caught anytime during the Fall season.

Summer
DuringSummer, head straight to the Beach to catch theCrimsonfish. You’ll need aFishing Level of at least 5to even have a chance of hooking this legendary fish. Your target spot is the east pier, which is unlocked after you finish repairing the small bridge. This is the long wooden dock that juts out into the ocean on the right side of the beach area.
As long as you’re on the pier itself or on the sandy shore to the east of it, you’re in the potential catching zone for theCrimsonfish inStardew Valley. The Crimsonfish prefers deeper ocean water, hence the requirement of a Fishing Zone of 3 or higher. If your bobber lands in a spot that is at least four tiles away from land, you have a good chance of catching the Crimsonfish.

Winter
TheGlacierfishcan be found in theCindersap Forestduring Winter. When you reach Fishing Level 6, head to the Arrowhead Island. This is the small, distinct island in the middle of the large pond. You need to stand on the very southern tip of this island to cast your line.
Just like the Crimsonfish, you need to aim for a Fishing Zone of 3 or higher to reel in the Glacierfish. Casting at least four tiles away from any land (including the island’s edge) ensures your bobber lands in this more favorable Fishing Zone.

You can find theMutant Carpin the Sewers. Once the Sewers are unlocked, you can catch the Mutant Carp anytime—regardless of season orweather inStardew Valley.
Any fishing spot within the Sewers will work for the Mutant Carp. There isn’t a specific “hotspot” within the sewer system for this fish. While not as notoriously difficult as some of the other legendary fish, the Mutant Carp can still take a few tries to hook.
In order to unlock sewers, you need to donate at least 60 items to the museum.

Spring
Rain
The Legend is considered one of the mostchallenging fish to catch inStardew Valley. It only comes out in those rainy days during Spring. To catch the Legend, head to the Mountain Lake. This is the large body of water north of the Mines entrance. Your specific target area is near the submerged log on the west side of the lake. Position yourself on the shore closest to that sunken log, so that your bobber lands in Fishing Zone 5, which is the prime spot to catch the Legend.
Unlike most otherfish inStardew Valley, you’ll need to have Fishing Level 10 to even have a chance of hooking the Legend. This likely means you’ll be tackling this legendary fish later in yourStardew Valleyjourney after significant fishing experience. Even with the right conditions and a high Fishing Level, the Legend can be stubborn.
