Summary
Whether players are looking to upgrade Stella’s ship or invest in new resources, money is crucial in the cozy management simulatorSpiritfarer.Ferrying the deadcan be an expensive endeavor, but glims, the in-game currency, are rarely in short supply. Stella has many effective ways to make more in no time.
Some of these methods are best utilized during the early stages of the game, when many buildings are missing, some parts of the map are off limits, and Stella has few abilities. But later in the game, there are even more lucrative options. Here are some of the best ways to get glims inSpiritfarer, considering profitability and ease of obtainment.
8Open Crates & Chests
Free Resources & Valuable Tchotchkes
From the beginning, eagle-eyed players will notice crates showing up on the map, which are bursting with useful goods. They respawn frequently and appear in all regions of the map, containing seeds and other resources native to that location. They may hold high-value tchotchkes to sell to Francis the Wandering Merchant.
While exploring the many islandsofSpiritfarer, Stella will come across chests hidden in buildings, on rooftops, or in other strange places. Like crates, they will contain useful goods and treasures that players can use or sell. One of the main things to look out for is seeds, to grow crops and veggies without needing to spend any of those precious glims.
7Fish For Tuna
Specific Locations For High-Priced Fish
They may be somewhat tricky to catch compared to other sea creatures, but tuna fetch high prices when sold to Francis or a Raccoon Inc. store. Found in seven specific locations on the map, players are guaranteedto catch tuna when fishingin these spots, with a jaunty fiddle tune playing during the reeling process.
Tuna is a required ingredient in very few recipes. It’s generally advisable to sell this particular fish without cooking them first anyway, since most meals with tuna are worth less than the fish in its raw form. Albacore brings in the lowest number of glims at 300, but bluefins can be sold for 450, and a yellowfin is worth a whopping 750 glims.
6Sell Unwanted Orchard Seeds
Peach Seeds Bring In Thousands Of Glims
In mid-game, the player can build orchards on the ship, allowing them to plant trees. Requiring no maintenance after the trees are fully grown and remain in place for the rest of the game, they are an ideal source of food production, providing fresh produce very frequently, especially after the room is upgraded.
Most players will only build between three and six orchards to accommodate the six different types of trees, depending on their personal play style. However, they will still accumulate seeds from crates, chests, and Francis’ errands, which are essentially useless to Stella. These extra seeds can be sold for lots of glims, ranging from 495 for an apple seed to 4000 for a peach seed.
5Complete Errands For Francis
Trade For Money & Rare Items
Likely encountered in the first few in-game days,Francis the Wandering Merchantis never too far away, no matter where Stella’s ship is on the map. The only trader who will buy tchotchkes, Francis is certainly one to visit often to offload those valuable items, but his errands are even more of a reason to check in.
Errands require Stella to trade in various items to get rewards. These rewards usually come in the form of rare items and potentially even thousands of glims per errand. Like crates and tuna spawns, most errands will reset regularly, allowing players to repeat them for even more rewards.
4Grow Leafy Veggies
Especially Fruitful In The Early To Mid-Game
The Furogawa region in the west can be explored in the first few hours of the game, and it’s worth doing so for the leafy veggies. Cabbage and celery seeds are very profitable, but lettuce seeds are a favorite of manySpiritfarerfans. They cost only 35 glims from the Raccoon Inc. salesperson at Hikarishima Lighthouse, and fully grown lettuces sell for 250 glims, making them a great option for smaller budgets.
AfterSummer teaches Stella how to play musicto encourage plant growth, lettuce, celery, and cabbage can be grown instantly and sold for hundreds of glims at a time. As always, it’s worth opening crates and chests in Furogawa, since they may contain these seeds for free.
3Participate In Events
Quick, Easy Glims
Gwen introduces the first in-game event pretty early, requiring Stella to pop green jellyfish to acquire bright jelly for construction purposes. However, popping yellow jellyfish also earns the eponymous spiritfarer a few glims. Alongside Atul’s lightning event, these can be good ways to pick up a few extra glims in the first few hours, but there are even more lucrative events much later.
After building the Rock Destroyer improvement, there are the firefly and meteor shower events in Oxbury, each potentially providing thousands of glims. Each firefly is only worth five glims, but there are thousands of them to pop. Meanwhile, the meteor showers give comet rocks and hundreds of glims per comet touched within the two-minute time limit.
2Sell Some Ingots
Extra Gold, Silver, & Zinc Ingots In Particular
Ore and ingots are major components in construction and upgrades throughout the entire runtime ofSpiritfarer, but they can also be a great source of income in the latter stages. Gold and silver ingots in particular are not required in many projects, so selling spares is a great way to earn easy glims.
The turtle sistersshould be utilized to harvest lots of gold or silver ore, investing three pieces of ore in a turtle to receive 21 pieces in return. If the foundry has been upgraded, it will provide two ingots per ore, and gold ingots sell for 300 glims each. This means that three pieces of gold ore can be turned into 42 ingots, bringing in 12,600 glims.
1Olive Oil
High Yield, High Production, High Profits
This is a method that requires a lot of investment, but yields almost game-breaking rewards, and can be achieved through natural progression. Orchards allow players to grow trees, one of which is the olive tree, regularly providing seven of the little green moneymakers. One seed does cost a hefty 2120 glims at Edgeborough Lane, but these seeds can also be found for free in crates.
Placing this savory veggie in the crusher turns it into olive oil, valued at 200 glims per bottle. An upgraded crusheryields two bottles per olive, and an upgraded orchard causes olives to sprout from the tree even faster. Crafty players can plant several olive trees in multiple orchards, and produce dozens of bottles daily to earn thousands of glims every day.
