This post contains spoilers for Solo Leveling.
Summary
Sung Jinwoo is the main lead ofSolo Leveling, so it’s hardly surprising that he has grown so strong in such a short period of time. Every challenger that he has beaten has made him better. Unlike other anime characters, it’s more or less confirmed that Sung Jinwoo’s potential is limitless.
He continues to grow and will continue to do so until somebody kills him. Initially,Sung Jinwoo was just an E-rank Hunter, but with time, his strength has improved, and so has his rank. By the end of the Jeju Island arc, he had supplanted all S-rank Hunters. For him, the next step was reaching the rank of a National Level Hunter.
Who Are The National Level Hunters?
For the uninitiated, there are five individuals who have beenofficially declared National Level Hunters. These are:
They were given the title after their victory over Kamish, which is widely considered to be the strongest magical beast. Kamish slaughtered hundreds of S-rank Hunters, but the aforementioned Hunters were able to bring him down. Following their victory, their strength was believed to be equal to a nation’s. It is worth mentioning that four of these Hunters received powers from the Rulers. Even for Sung Jinwoo, reaching such a level was a Herculean task. However, the Hunter was able to accomplish the feat in the Japan Crisis arc.
When Did Sung Jinwoo Surpass The National Level Hunters?
In the arc, Japan was in danger because of an S-rank gate that had opened. Japan was in a weak position after losing so many S-rank Hunters on Jeju Island. That’s why the higher-ups recruited Yuri Orloff, aRussian S-rank Hunter who calledhimself the best at creating barriers. But he flopped badly. When the gate opened, one of the Giants broke the barrier in mere seconds, while another Giant devoured Yuri Orloff.
With no one else capable of stopping the rampage, Sung Jinwoo decided to intervene. He knew that the country would be destroyed without his help. So, Jinwoo utilized his Shadow Army and began slaughtering anything coming out of the gate. The sheer power of the Giants made the task more challenging, but Jinwoo prevailed due to his perseverance. He defeated all the Giants and got rid of Legia, the Monarch of the Beginning.
Beating Thomas Andre Cemented His Position
Clearing an S-rank gate by himself is a massive feat, and it was at this point that Sung Jinwoosurpassed the National Level Hunters. Most fans agree with this assessment, but some think that Sung Jinwoo only reached the level in the International Guild Conference arc, where the hero fought against Thomas Andre. Sung Jinwoo encountered Thomas Andre while he was looking for Yoo Jinho.
Are you looking down on a National Level Hunter? —Thomas Andre
Thomas Andre was confident in his abilities, and he was sure that Sung Jinwoo would be put through the wringer. However, his confidence was crushed by Jinwoo, who obliterated him in the battle. By beating Thomas Andre, the strongest and the highest-ranked National Level Hunter, Sung Jinwoo supplanted every known Hunter in the series.
Will These Fights Be Covered In Solo Leveling Season 3?
Solo Leveling Season 2 ended with the Recruitment arc. If the third season has more than 10 episodes, there is a good chance that it will fit three more arcs. This means it will definitely include the Ahjin Guild arc, Double Dungeon arc, and Japan Crisis arc. It is possible that the International Guild Conference arc will also be covered in season 3. Thiswill allow A-1 Pictures to adapt the remainderof the arcs in season 4, which will act as the final season of the anime.
At the moment, there is no information about the release date of Solo Leveling Season 3. So, it is safe to say that it will likely be released in 2027. The anime’s release may be distant, but fans can expect a high-quality season when Solo Leveling finally returns.
