Although there have been a few changes, the anime has remained faithful to the source material, preserving most storylines, important fight sequences, and character development.
Based on the previous installments, the creators are unlikely to take too much creative liberty with the upcoming season either, especially considering the overwhelmingly positive reception so far. Taking all these factors into consideration and assuming that the series sticks to its 12-13 episodes per season format, the next installment could approximately adapt 50 chapters. In the Jeju Island raid arc, Japan lost some of its most talented hunters, including thenation’s prized asset, Goto Ryuji. Once considered Asia’s second most powerful hunter nation, it has since been reduced to a regional power with little influence. So, when an S-rank gate spawns over Tokyo, the East Asian island country will find itself in a state of existential crisis.
The S-rank hunters in Japan are too underpowered and underprepared to handle a crisis of such a scale. So, the government will have to look for help from potential saviors outside the country. Russia’s Yuri Orloff will take advantage of this situation, as his expertise in barrier magic will make him an ideal candidate for Japan’s crisis. But when Tokyo’sS-rank dungeon break occurs, Sung Jinwoo will abandon everything to rush to ground zero.
