It’s Steve (Black) and Alex, and so that’s the one that we will be bringing to the table without a doubt,” he said. Alex is a significant character in the game because he is one of the two default players characters — Steve being the other one. Alex was introduced in 2014 as a second default skin option. Just like Steve, she has no unique abilities. However, the pair appears in otherMinecraftgames as heroic figures.
Hess has alreadyexpressed interest in directing anotherMinecraftfilm. According to him, they had “so much fun” when they worked on the first movie. Also, the filmmaker acknowledged the endless possibilities they could explore in the franchise, considering that one can build anything from blocks — the basics of the gameplay. The director said that there were a lot of things they had not covered in the first movie and wanted to explore. A sequel will give them the opportunity to pursue those ideas. Hess hinted that a sequel was possible because they had already discussed it. He said:
I would have a blast doing the sequel, and it seems like there’s already talk about it happening, so I’m super excited. It’ll be so much fun to go back into the world.
Alex’s inclusion in the film will be a great move because the character brings gender balance to the spotlight since she represents the millions of female players in the game’s community. Mojang confirmed that Alex is female even if the game doesn’t assign gender roles. She has a slim build, ponytail, and slightly different posture from Steve. Alex is easy to spot because of her orange hair, green shirt, brown pants, and gray boots.
