Black Ops 6 Zombieshas unveiled its DLC 3 map with Shattered Veil, which takes players to Richtofen’s mansion in Liberty Falls in an effort to use theSentinel Artifactand put an end to the madness that these flesh-eating zombies wreak on the population. Yet, things are about to get messy with the Dark Aether, should players dare to complete this main easter egg quest inBlack Ops 6.
Luckily for players, this step-by-step guide for Shattered Veil is just what they will need to easily complete the main easter egg, with a straightforward walkthrough of the entire main quest so that players can dominate Shattered Veil andbecome aCOD Zombiesexpert.
Step 1: Access the Mainframe Chamber & Turn on Pack-a-Punch
The first step for the easter egg involves heading through the Mansion and picking up key items to activate the elevator so that players can access the Mainframe Chamber andturn on the Pack-a-Punch machine. This can easily be done by finding specific parts in these areas:
With these items acquired, head through the Banquet Hall and interact with the back of the elevator to open it, which allows players to go down to the Mainframe Chamber where S.A.M. is located.
Step 2: Acquire the Ray Gun Mark 2
With the Mainframe Chamber open, players will now need the Ray Gun Mark 2. This is easily obtained by spinning the Mystery Box and using the Wonderbar! GobbleGum, but for those who want a guaranteed free Ray Gun Mark 2, they can acquire it through a quick quest:
Step 3: Upgrade to the Ray Gun Mark 2-W
With the Ray Gun Mk2 acquired, players must now upgrade it to its three variants. The first and best variant to start with is theRay Gun Mark 2-W, and to start, players will need to obtain an Empty Vessel. This is easily acquired by shooting the Ray Gun Mark 2 at blue crystals around the map, with only one of them spawning an Empty Canister:
With the Empty Canister acquired, head into Shem’s Henge, where opposite Speed Cola will be a yellow box where players can place the canister. This will spawn an Abomination, and players now need the Abomination to use its laser beam attack to shoot the three small rocks around the center area to make them glow, and then have the Abomination charge attack into the rocks to make them float. Once all three rocks are floating, a portal opens in the middle, and players must now defend it from Vermin. Doing so will see the Empty Canister replaced with the Explosive Canister, which can be picked up and placed in the Supply Depot to upgrade the Ray Gun Mark 2 into the Mark 2-W.
Step 4: Upgrade to the Ray Gun Mark 2-P
TheRay Gun Mark 2-Pwill also need an Empty Canister, and this can be obtained by acquiring a LT53 Kazimir and throwing it towards the zombie spawning hole at the Rear Patio, just behindDouble Tap Root Beer. Throwing the LT53 Kazimir will see the Empty Canister pop out for players to pick up. With the Empty Canister acquired, it’s time to grab three more items, with the first two being that of Reflectors. There are two Reflectors to be found in specific locations, and they’re acquired by interacting with the stone fountains outside the Conservatory and the South West Balcony.
The last item players need is the Essence Bomb, which is a random drop acquired from destroying the white JANUS crates around the map. With the Essence Bomb acquired, head into the Service Tunnels, where beside the armor wall-buy, players can interact with the rocks on the wall to blow them up and access a secret room. From within, place the Empty Canister in its chamber to spawn a laser puzzle.
For this puzzle, follow the blue laser and place the Reflector in the empty location where the laser is firing, and once both Reflactors are placed, melee the blue crystal to spawn a Doppelghast. Once the Doppelghast is dead, melee the first Reflector, and then pick up the second Reflector and place it in the cave that takes players above the secret room, then melee the blue crystal again to spawn a second Doppelghast. After this one’s defeat, head back into the cave and melee the second Reflector and then melee the blue crystal to spawn the third and final Doppelghast. Completing all three will give players the Light Canister which can be taken to the Director’s Quarters to craft the Ray Gun Mark 2-P.
Step 5: Upgrade to the Ray Gun Mark 2-R
For theRay Gun Mark 2-R, players will need an Empty Canister. This one can be acquired by equipping a multitude of Combat Axes, either from the Crafting Bench or through finding them on the map. Now, head into the Service Tunnel, where, to the left of the Doppelghast’s cell, there is a burst valve that connects to an A valve or a B valve. Head into the Mainframe Chamber to find a glass chamber that will have either A or B written next to it. Depending on the letter shown, throw a Combat Axe at the valve in the middle to burst it, then throw a final Combat Axe at the correct letter to burst that one. Then, players will need a Molotov to throw at the glass chamber to drop the Empty Canister.
With an Empty Canister acquired, players can place it inside the Conservatory, but to acquire the Ray Gun Mark 2-R, players will need 4 Plant Seeds. Plant Seeds are guaranteed drops from Dark Aether plants when they are destroyed with explosives, like Grenades or Semtex. Only one Dark Aether Plant will spawn at a time, so run around the outside areas of the map to locate and blow them up for the Plant Seeds.
With 4 Plant Seeds, interact with the incubators around the Conservatory, but only do this one plant at a time, as this challenge sees zombies attempt to attack and destroy the plant. Once the plant is fully grown, zombies will ignore it, and players can repeat this step around the Conservatory to complete the spore harvest, acquire the Toxic Canister, and then craft the Ray Gun Mark 2-R at the Garden Pond area.
Step 6: Complete the Ray Gun Mark 2-W Liminal Trial
Equip the Ray Gun Mark 2-W from the Supply Depot and head into the Banquet Hall, where on the right of the GobbleGum machine, there will be a cardboard box with a lamp hanging out of it. Interact with it toacquire the Sconce, which can then be placed into a hole on a wooden pillar at the west side of the Grand Foyer, beside Jugger-Nog.
Now, players need to complete a Simon Says minigame with the lamp, where the lamp on the left and right will light up and then turn off in a random order. Players just need to track which lamp glows and how many times, and then interact with said lamp. For instance, if the left lamp glows, then the right lamp glows, then the right lamp again, then they need to interact with the left lamp, then the right lamp twice. Doing so correctly will open a secret room, the Distillery, where they can then interact with a terminal besides a large portrait to begin a lockdown where they must eliminate zombies with the Ray Gun Mark 2-W to unlock the blue portal to the Liminal Distillery.
Now, players arelooking for the Bell, an item that can be found within the Study, a room just before Elemental Pop. The Bell is found behind one of many glass cabinets, so feel free to shoot or blow up the room and spam the interact button behind shelves to try and grab it.
For the next step, players will need the Brain Rot ammo mod on their gun from The Arsenal machine, and then they will need to head up the Grand Foyer’s second floor to the Overlook area and place the Bell on the bar desk on the south side of the room. Stand at the bar and shoot zombies until one receives the Brain Rot effect, and then interact with the bell on the desk, which will cause the zombie to place aMetal Hip Flashon the desk that can be picked up.
With the Metal Hip Flash acquired, head into the Liminal Distillery and place the item on the stone tablet. This will spawn an HVT Mangler with a blue shield that can only be damaged with the Ray Gun Mark 2-W. After killing this Elite Zombie, pick up the Sentinel Artifact from the stone ritual plate and prepare for the next two trials.
Step 7: Complete the Ray Gun Mark 2-P Liminal Trial
With the Ray Gun Mark 2-P acquired from the upgrade bench at the Director’s Quarters, players will then want to head into the Banquet Hall, which is the room that leads players down the elevator shaft to the Maintenance Chamber. From this room, interact with the computer terminal to the left of the portrait, which will begin an encounter where players must charge the Liminal Portal by eliminating zombies with the Ray Gun Mark 2-P. Simply kill the zombies that spawn with the Ray Gun Mark 2-P, and the portal will charge up and allow players to enter.
Once players are inside this unique room, they mustlocate the Ritual Elixir, which is a red bottle that will be somewhere on the central table. With the Ritual Elxier required, leave the portal room andhead into the Bottleryand interact with the chalice. Doing this will spawn an Elder Disciple, so be ready to kill it. Once the Elder Disciple is dead, the chalice should have a red symbol above it, and now it’s time to find the other chalices.
One chalice can be found in the spawn area of the Garden Pond, found on a bench when players are underneath the bridge and facing north. Interact with it to kill the Elder Disciple. The third and final chalice is found in the Grand Foyer, when players go up the stairs to the Overlook section, directly opposite the T. Rex when facing south.
With the three chalices completed, head into the Banquet Hall, where there will now be a set of numbers found on blank portraits on the walls. Players will need to memorize the set of numbers from left to right, and then head to the Director’s Quarters, where, near Death Perception in the West Hallways, there is a safe that players can now interact with to enter their 6-digit combination (from left to right). Inside the safe isthe Antler Carving itemthat players need to collect to then place on the stone ritual slab inside the purple portal of the Banquet Hall. Doing so will start a ritual where players must kill a red HVT variant of the Elder Disciple, which hasa shield that can only be broken with the Ray Gun Mark 2-P.Once dead, players can interact with the Sentinel Artifact to complete the ritual.
Step 8: Complete the Ray Gun Mark 2-R Liminal Trial
Equip the Ray Gun Mark 2-R from the Garden Pond and head to the Library, where players can interact with the computer terminal beside the large portrait to begin a lockdown procedure, where they need to charge the Liminal Portal by eliminating zombies with the Ray Gun Mark 2-R. Enter the Liminal Library through the yellow portal, andmake sure Aether Shroud is chargedup for this next step.
Players will now need to find multiple parts, with the first beinga Nuclear Plant ID Badgefound from fireplaces. This part will only spawn in a random fireplace per game, and can only be picked up during Aether Shroud in the fireplace that is glowing with a blue fire. Here are the locations for the fireplaces for the Nuclear Plant ID Badge:
The next part players are looking for is theAudio Log, and players can, again, only find this part in specific random areas during Aether Shroud. The locations for the Audio Log are as follows:
The third and final part players need to find is theLedger, which players will need to hunt for and grab during Aether Shroud, and the part can be found at these locations:
With all three items acquired, head back to the Library, where, opposite the Liminal Library portal on the bookshelves, there are now glowing spirit books that will need to beinteracted with in a specific order. Look closely at the blue symbols on the spine of the book and interact with them in the following order:
Interacting with the books in the correct order will open a secret door to the left of the bookcase, where, on the center table, they canpick up the Nuclear Plant Inspection Report. With this item, head into the Liminal Library and interact with the stone ritual table, which will spawn an Amalgam that can be killed with the Ray Gun Mark 2-R. After killing it, pick up the Sentinel Artifact from the stone table.
Step 9: Prepare for the Boss Fight and Interact with S.A.M.
Now that players have completed all three trials and charged the Sentinel Artifact, they can activate the boss fight by going to the Mainframe Chamber and interacting with the central terminal when facing S.A.M. However, before starting the boss fight, it’s imperative that players come prepared with the right equipment.
We recommend the Tier 3 Pack-a-Punch variant of the Ray Gun Mark 2-W, a Chopper Gunner Scorestreak, a fully charged Aether Shroud Field Upgrade, plenty of Essence to purchase more ammo, all Perk-a-Colas, andTier 3 Armorat the ready. Other helpful items might include the Idle Eyes GobbleGum, but it’s not necessary.
Some players are experiencing a white screen upon starting the boss fight, and unfortunately, there is no fix for this.
Step 10: Beat the Z-Rex Boss Fight
Now that players are ready for the boss fight, they are going to experience a cool cutscene before being thrown into the boss arena against the all-powerful Z-Rex, which is as terrifying as it sounds, as it’s literally a zombified T. Rex skeleton. Players can shoot the Z-Rex in the eyes for critical damage, or on the ribs when it eats a Toxic Zombie, and these will be the main ways players can deal the most damage, but they can shoot it anywhere on the body for damage.
In terms of attacks, the Z-Rex will attempt to charge at players and spit acid at them to both slow them down and deal toxic damage. The best strategy to fight the Z-Rex is to simply keep a good distance and to use PhD Flopper and Stamin-Up to run and dash away from it between the large rocks. Aether Shroud will be great to get out of trouble fast, and the Chopper Gunner is going to be amazing for dealing bursts of safe damage, but for solo players, try to reserve Chopper Gunner until the last encounter, as the Z-Rex will constantly charge towards you, which can be extremely deadly.
Once the Z-Rex is defeated, the easter egg will be completed, and players will have completed the DLC3 map!
