Summary
Masteringskillsis the only way to progress inRuneScape: Dragonwilds, and players need lots of farming, grinding, and crafting to reach the top of the food chain, and avoid being destroyed by goblins, garous, demons, and dragons.
And amongall the skills the game has, this ranked list spotlights the hardest to level up. Be it for the cost of leveling them, or for the amount of time and effort it takes, these skills will give players a guaranteed headache before maxing out.
1Construction
Players Will Have To Farm Thousands Of Mats To Level It Up
First on the list, we have Construction, a skill that unlocks some of the most useful Spells in the game, including Summon Shelter and Personal Chest, which allows players to keep exploring without having to go back to base to drop their loot or rest.
But, to unlock them both (especially in the case of Personal Chest, since it is granted at Level 40), players will have to raise their Construction levels, and this is a monumental task. They will have to spend hours farming, grinding, and building structuresall over the world to make it reach a decent level. Learning how and where to build structures can be tough as well, since the players will be constantly attacked by hordes of enemies and the dragon roaming the zone.
2Attack
The Only Way To Raise It Is Melee Combat
Attack can be enjoyable to upgrade at first, but as the experience requirements for higher levels increase, players have to expose themselves to close-quarters combat with some of the most dangerous creatures in Ashenfall. Like Garou Thanes, who can delete a fully armored player in one blow, or the vicious Abyssal Demon, who has tons of tricky skills, including binding and teleporting.
To say leveling up Attack is complicated is an understatement, and players will soon feel the creeping pressure to raise their stamina cost perks, as combat gets more and more intense as the game progresses. Learning how to time their attacks correctly, how to parry, and when to dodge adds an extra layer of difficulty to mastering this skill.
3Runecrafting
Players Will Be Overencumbered All The Time When Leveling It
Runecrafting offers some of the most powerful abilities in the game, and some are even key for exploration (like Windstep), so leveling this skill is a must. The problem lies in the weight ofRunic Essence, a material needed for crafting runesand leveling this skill: It weighs a lot.
By the time players have gathered enough in their bases to do some extended Runecrafting sessions in their base, and grind tons of exp, they will have chests full of one of the heaviest materials in the game. Plus, being encumbered all the time is not funny at all. So, Runecrafting becomes troublesome to max out, especially from level 30+, since it requires loads of experience.
4Artisan
Same As Construction, But With Crafting Goods
To level up the Artisan Skill inRuneScape: Dragonwilds, players will need tocraft thousands of items, and the higher the quality, the better. The problem is, as with Construction, the materials required won’t farm themselves.
So, if players want to really get into the highest levels of Artisan and unlock some of the most useful spells and effects of this skill line, they will have to gather an insurmountable number of materials and spend hours crafting.
5Woodcutting
Chop, Chop, Chop, And Never Cease Chopping
If not for the fact that Axtral Projection and Splinter exist, thenWoodcutting would be a total nightmare to level up. This skill is a process that starts with players going around chopping not only the base of the tree, but the stump, then the log into smaller logs, then the logs into even smaller pieces. So, those two spells that are unlocked quite early do help a lot.
Still, from level 27 and going forward, things get really complicated. Ash wood no longer provides enough experience, and players won’t be able to get the Bone Axe needed for the Oak trees later, which is problematic since it delays leveling. It is true, the game is still on Early Access, and there’s a chance the devs will include better ways to level Woodcutting without turning players into beaver-maniacs.
6Cooking
Players Will Have To Farm Hundreds Of Ingredients To Max It Out
Though simple at first glance, Cooking becomes more and more complex as the players advance towards the late game. The many recipes thatplayers can cook to level this skillhave a high cost of materials, which can only be obtained from either plants or animals, and that means lots of hunting and foraging.
The only reason why Cooking is not higher on this list of troublesome skills to level up inRuneScape: Dragonwilds,is that there are various farming spots for Raw Bird Meat, Potatoes, and Water, which can be useful for grinding tons of experience. Still, it will take some time before players max this skill out, so they should coat themselves with patience.
