With so many things to do and learn, it is understandable that players are a little bit lost, so in this guide, they will find all the information they need to know about how crafting works in the game.
From how to unlock their firstcrafting stationsto how to create advanced items like Runes, Food Recipes, and more, this comprehensive guide will informRuneScape: Dragonwildsplayersabout the basics of survival on the continent of Ashenfall.
How To Unlock Basic Crafting Tables
Once players spawn for the first time, they will need to talk to theWise Old Man NPCin front of them to start a quest that will unlock the basic Crafting Tables. They will need to talk to three other NPCs (Doric, before they can unlock the most basic crafting recipes for theCrafting Table, theCampfire, and theRune Altar.
How To Craft Armor And Weapons
CraftingWeapons and Armor inRuneScape: Dragonwilds,is done at theCrafting Table, a simple crafting station that players need to build using4x Ash Logs.Since this is the most basic crafting station, players will need it throughout the adventure as they dive more and more into the continent.
To unlock the Crafting Table, players need to talk to Doric just outside the first spawn spot, and bring him some Ash Logs. After that, the recipe for the Crafting Table will be unlocked, and players can craft it alongside other basic gear: Axes, Pickaxes, and Clubs.
As players might have guessed, Crafting Tables are quite cheap to build. Same happens with other crafting stations that could be called ‘portable,’ and can be built at a lower cost to promote the player’s exploration and base-building in different spots of the map.
How To Craft Food Recipes
Once players have learned the basics of crafting from Doric, they will need to go find Vannaka, the next NPC in theIntroductory ‘Crafting Quest’ line.He can be found next to a tent north of Doric, and he will ask the players to hunt for Giant Rants in the Mill up the hill, then craft3x Rat Roast.
Players need to build aCampfirewith4x Stone and 4x Ash Log.Stones can be either mined or found scattered around. The same happens with Ash Logs: Players can find them around on the floor or cut down trees to harvest more.
To craft the Rat Roast (and most cooking recipes) players need to approach the Campfire anddrag the raw ingredientson thetop slot, then on the middle slot, put fuel: Ash Log in this case.
Players should remember to carry few materials, since encumbrance exists and can force players to drop everything and run at any minute. Travel light, or move around building many bases to make sure to never be caught off-guard.
How To Craft Runes
To Craft Runes inRuneScape: Dragonwilds, players need to unlock theRune Altarby finding Zanik and bringing her 50 Ash Logs. Once they have done so, she will grant themthe recipe for the Rune Altarand a Pickaxe they need to use to extractRunic Essencefrom the purple glowing Rune Geisers scattered around the map.
Look for the small rock formations popping up around the geisers and mine them to gainMining Exp, andRunecraftingExpby the lots. Then, go and craft the Rune Altar using12x Stone and 4x Rune Essence.
Runes of the most basic kind (Air Rune, Fire Rune) can be equipped asammowhen usingMagic Weapons, and are also required as components for resource-gathering spells likeAxtral ProjectionandRocksplosion.
Don’t forget to return to Zanik to unlock the next and final part of the Crafting Quest and craft more equipment using theSpinning Wheel(unlocked upon collectingFlax) and other useful Benches that will be needed to continue the adventure through Ashenfall.
Remember to carry a good supply of different types of Runes, since they are the foundation of Magic inRuneScape: Dragonwilds.Getting out of Runes during combat is not an option; plus, they don’t have too much weight and can be crafted in bulk with few mats. Make sure to carry at least 50 of each type of Rune, and if possible, 100.
