Theremaster ofTES 4: Oblivionwas Microsoft’s worst-kept secretin recent memory, having leaked on numerous occasions in the run-up to its official announcement. The modernized version of the iconic open-world RPG was shadow-dropped for the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC on April 22.
At least one more version of the game is in the works, according to Extas1s. The Spanish leaker’s latest YouTube report saw him claim that the Nintendo’s Switch successor will eventually join the list ofplatforms that can playTES 4: Oblivion Remastered. “Work is already underway on the Nintendo Switch 2 version of theOblivionremake,” Extas1s said around the 17th-minute mark in his April 22 video.
TES 4: Oblivion Remastered Switch 2 Port Would Establish a New Bethesda Trend
Only eight months afterNintendo launched the original Switch, Bethesda had already released anElder Scrollsgame for it, debuting the first portable version ofSkyrimin November 2017. If a Switch 2 version ofOblivion Remasteredis indeed already in the works, it could materialize at a similar distance from its target platform’s release. This scenario would also establish a trend, marking the second consecutive generation in which Bethesda supports a new Nintendo console within its first year.

Nintendo Switch 2 Will Be a Bona Fide RPG Machine
Oblivion Remasteredor not, the Switch successor shouldn’t be lacking in RPGs. The Switch 2 itself is slated for a June 5 launch. The console has been available for pre-order in many parts of the world since April 9. U.S. pre-orders will open tomorrow, April 24. The console will retail for $449.99, 50% more than its predecessor. Not counting the backward-compatible catalog, the Switch 2 launch game lineup will have at least 23 titles, includingMario Kart World,Fast Fusion,Street Fighter 6, andCivilization 7.
