OtherPokemon TCG Pocketcards have throwbacksto even more games in the main series, such as one of the cards showing Spearow in a patch of grass on Route 16 — a nod toPokemon FireRed. This time, another player found another curious detail on the game’s cards and shared the discovery with the community.

On Reddit, user Weekly-Zucchini-8822 showed that all the cards illustrated by Saya Tsuruta have a Poke Ball hidden in them. The Horsea card hides a Poke Ball on the right-hand side next to its mouth, while the Koffing card hides one on the left-hand side between the drawings of the city. An almost imperceptible form of the Poke Ball appears in the right-hand corner of the Mew card. The Morelull and Cloyster cards hide themost iconic item in thePokemonfranchisein the top right-hand corner and on the left-hand side next to water bubbles.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Player Finds Hidden Detail in Card Designs

The Poke Balls that the OP found on the cards also appear in the physical Pokemon Trading Card Game. They are some of the 129 cards illustrated by Saya Tsuruta, a well-known designer and illustrator ofPokemoncards and games. The artist designed seven Pokemon, including Fletchling, Goomy, and its evolution, Goodra. Tsuruta also illustrated several location previews, images that appear when players access a new area, forPokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, theGen 2 remakes. Some highlights are Slowpoke Well, Viridian Forest, Mt. Moon, and Digglet’s Cave.

The five cards in the publication are the only ones illustrated by Saya Tsuruta that are available inPokemon TCG Pocket. The sixth card, Rowlet, will arrive soon with the release of theCelestial Guardians expansion.
