Summary
Pokemon GOhas announced a new Raid Day on May 3 featuring Mega Kangaskhan. ThePokemon GOraid calendar has been quite busy, with players getting to face off against various pocket monsters.
Kangaskhan was one of the first critters to become available whenPokemon GOwas released. However, there is a catch: while the Kantonian monster can be found in the wild,Kangaskhan is exclusive to Australia. Its Mega form was added in 2022 at the start of A Mega Moment, an event launched to celebrate the reintroduction of Mega Evolutions and related features to the augmented reality game. Last seen in raids in August 2024, Niantic has confirmed that Mega Kangaskhan will return soon.
Pokemon GOhas announced a new Raid Day featuring Mega Kangaskhan that will take place on Saturday, June 23, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm local time. The Mega Kangaskhan players encounter in raids during this period will know the Charged Attack Stomp, an ability with 55 power in trainer battles, and 50 power in Gyms and raids. As with otherpreviously announced Raid Day events, the Remote Raid Pass limit will be increased to 20 from Friday, May 2, at 5 pm to Saturday, Jun 28, 2025, at 8 pm PT. Players will receive up to five extra Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs and will have an increased chance of finding shiny Mega Kangaskhan.
A $4.99 ticket will be available during Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day, giving players eight extraPokemon GORaid Passeswhen they spin Photo Discs and increasing the chance of winning Rare Candy XL. Other benefits include 50% more XP and twice as much Stardust obtained in raids. The event will also launch a $4.99 Ultra Ticket Box with an event ticket and a Premium Battle Pass to boost trainers' participation. New free Timed Research will be available, rewarding players with 10,000 Stardust and an additional 1,000 Stardust when completing a raid - which will be 3,000 for ticket owners. Timed Research Tasks and rewards must be claimed and finished before Saturday, Jun 15, 2025, at 5 pm local time, when they will be gone forever.
Pokemon caught in Mega Raids are reverted to their base form, so this will be a golden opportunity forPokemon GOplayers outside Australia to get a Kangaskhan. While the event is not available in the game yet, two other Raid Days will take place first: Gigantamax Snorlax on April 19 and thedebut of Dynamax Entei inPokemon GOon April 26.
