Summary

APokemonfan has given Charmander an interesting redesign, making the Pokemon look like a creature that could exist in real life. The unique recreation is just one of the ways thatPokemonfans regularly showcase their creativity and passion for the series.

A long time has passed since the first generation of Pokemon, but Charmander and its evolutionary line remain extremely popular among fans. The Pokemon line seems to be a favorite of the development team too, with Charizard holding the distinct honor of being one of the onlyPokemon to have more than one Mega Evolution. With many classicPokemongamers choosing Charmander as their very first Pokemon and the particularly heart-wrenching story Charmander got in the original anime, it seems the Fire-type’s line isn’t going anywhere.

Now, aPokemonfan going by Cryptnoch has now shared their rendition of a realistic Charmander. Charmander has been transformed into a fairly realistic-looking lizard, complete with orange scales all over its body. This Charmander is shown mid-stride, and its posture isn’t as upright as it’s appeared in recent games, instead looking more like Charmander’s earlier depictions inPokemon Red and Blue, orPokemon Crystal. The overall design of the realistic Charmander is similar to the original, and quite recognizable, yet unique enough to stand completely apart. Aside from the tip of Charmander’s tail being on fire and its large eyes, it’s easy enough to imagine mistaking this fan’s creation for a rendition of an actual ancient creature.

Pokemon Fans React To Impressive Charmander Depiction

OtherPokemontrainers have been quite enthusiastic about the Charmander, with some asking questions of the artist. One asked how Cryptnoch had managed to create such impressive-looking scales, to which they responded that it was due in large part to their “obsession” with real-life lizards, which seems to have also led to them previously creating arealistic Koraidonredesign. The artist also shared that the sticker version of their Charmander is available for sale for those who are interested in it.

Between the imagination of the official creators and fans, some “realistic” Pokemon designs have been quite nightmareish in the past, like ahorrifying realistic Squirtleone fan created. Not every Pokemon can be readily converted into something that looks like a real creature, or at least not one that wouldn’t scare a young Pokemon trainer starting their journey. However, fans still love imagining Pokemon being a part of their daily lives. The series is nearly 30 years old at this point, so it’s pretty clear that fans will likely never stop imagining Pokemon living in the real world.
