Starting on April 17,Phasmophobiaplayers will be able to participate in theCursed Hollowseasonal event. On select maps, players will be haunted by a Forest Spirit, and in addition to the usual tasks of identifying the ghost and completing optional objectives, players will want to locate totems. Collecting said totems changeshow thePhasmophobiaghost behaves, with Kinetic Games stating that some effects can benefit the player, while others make the game harder.

Phasmophobia Cursed Hollow Improves Seasonal Event Formula

The developers ofPhasmophobiahave noted that they’ve heard the feedback of players loud and clear regarding recent events, and have made a number of adjustments to how this one works accordingly. Maps impacted by the seasonal event will rotate daily, giving players a more varied experience. The event will only last for three weeks, instead of a full month, and rewards have been split into two categories.

Previously, the community as a whole needed to complete the event tasks in order to unlock new player ID cards and upgrades. While Cursed Hollow will feature a community reward, it will also feature a personal goal that only counts the efforts the individual player has made. Players will also automatically claim any unlocked rewards upon logging in prior to the event’s end.Following the event, there will still be a lot on thePhasmophobiadevelopment roadmap, not just for 2025, but for further into the future.

With this upcoming update, the game will have launched two things the roadmap promised, including theBleasdale Farmhouse overhaul, which dramatically changed the look of the house and the surrounding space, and the Easter seasonal event. The developers have also promised a brand-new small map, updates to Grafton Farmhouse, player character overhauls, and a new method of gathering additional ghost evidence called Chronicle. Chronicle will introduce new tools, like an audio recorder, and new methods of using existing tools, like the video camera. 2026 is also promising new maps, interior reworks, and the long-awaited Horror 2.0 update that should dramatically shake up the experience.
