Summary

Grinding Gear Games plans to make three big changes aroundPath of Exile 2’s loot drops, along with some tweaks to Corrupted Nexuses in order to improve endgame progression. After the backlash received followingPath of Exile 2’s Dawn of the Hunt update, GGG has been trying to turn things around by fixing the game through various patches, and is now tackling loot drops and endgame.

GGG’s popular ARPG is having a complicated time at the moment, asPath of Exile 2currently holds a “Mostly Negative” rating on Steam’s reviews, with many players complaining about the Dawn of the Hunt campaign being too punishing. On top of the campaign’s negative reviews, players have complained about other aspects of the game, such as the slow progression and persistent performance issues. These problems have prompted GGG to release a series of patches, with the latest one (0.2.0f) introducing a wealth of changes, though Steam’s recent reviews are still negative. Now, GGG has explained to players what’s next for the game.

Following thelatestPath of Exile 2update, the developer remains committed to improving the game. As detailed in a blog post, the next patch will raise the floor of the quality of bosses’ drops, aiming to mitigate unlucky streaks, while also increasing the overall quality of drops. Monsters possessed by Azmerian Wisps will see their drops improved as well. These changes will likely make the game a bit more rewarding, which has been something players have complained about recently.

What Are Path of Exile 2’s Upcoming Changes?

The next patch will also tackle endgame progression by implementing some changes toPath of Exile 2’s Corrupted Nexuses, as players have been having a hard time finding them. To solve this, GGG will improve Nexuses’ visibility on the Fog of the Atlas map, while also reducing the number that players need to complete to get Atlas Passive Points. Besides these two significant changes, the developer also plans to improve accessibility to Pinnacle content and lower the difficulty of Simulacrums and Remnants in Expeditions.

According to GGG, these changes will be released sometime in the next couple of weeks, and the studio will remain open to feedback while continuing to identify all the issues that require fixing. So far, the developer has already made some necessary changes to Ascendancy classes, charms, totems, and more, though it remains to be seen how players will receive this wave of patches and whetherPath of Exile 2will manage to recover its positive rating on Steam.
