Viewers will also be hoping to see the resolution to thehuman monster Garou’s storyline, including a rematch against theOne Punch Manhimself. With so many new characters likely to be adapted, which ones are going to be the true threats to the heroes? Spoilers are ahead for those who wish to find out which of the strongest villains to be the most excited about.

The Monster Association Threat

Monsters Stronger Than We Have Seen Them So Far

In the manga and webcomic we learn more details about how monsters have begun to revolt against the Hero Association by swelling their numbers and organizing into a structure to accommodate their nearly 500 members. The Monster Association structure consists of the leader, known as Orochi the monster king and the cadre leadership consisting of at least nine known members.

During Season 2, we were briefly teased with the appearance of Orochi and Gyoro Gyoro, the secret avatar of the esper known as Psykos. At this point, it’s unclear exactly how far into the source material this newest anime season will adapt, but it’s safe to assume that these characters shown in Season 2 will be expanded upon in Season 3.

The Cadre

The top leadership of the Monster Association is composed of powerful monsters known as the cadre. They are each individually powerful creatures, some of which approach dragon-level threats. The known cadre in the manga and webcomic include: Black S, Evil Natural Water, Fuhrer Ugly, Nyan, Homeless Emperor, Gums, Overgrown Rover, Gouketsu, and Elder Centipede. Each of these possesses unique, formidable powers that make them more than a match formany of the S-class heroes.

Monster King Orochi

One of the major antagonists likely coming in Season 3 is the monster king Orochi, head of the Monster Association. He is a massive creature who is considered a dragon-level threat and whose body is actually an amalgamation of several different dragons mashed together. He has a more normal, human-sized form but can also transform into other forms to increase his power. He is powerful enough to keep hundreds of other powerful monsters under his control, monsters that can fight and sometimes win against the Hero Association’s most powerful heroes. Orochi is definitely a massive threat to watch out for in the upcoming season.

Psykos

Although it is believed that Orochi is the absolute leader of the Monster Association, it is revealed that he is being psychically manipulated by the powerful esper Psykos. Using her puppet Kyoro Kyoro, she conditioned Orochi to follow her orders and set in motion events she foresaw in a possible future. During the fight with the Hero Association, Psykos merges with Orochi, resulting in an even stronger, massive beingafter Saitama defeats the latter. One single attack from the fused pair is shown to create enough force to generate large tsunamis.

Garou the Human Monster

The Fight Fans Are Waiting For

Of course, one villain that many are anxious to see back in action is Garou. In the manga and webcomic, the human monster continues to grow at an exponential rate. He eventually clashes more seriously with Saitama. After being granted additional powers from a mysterious being only known as “God,” he is able to copy Saitama’s strength and use it against him.

This fight will be the highest scale of power the series has seen so far. However, it is unclear if thepacing of Season 3 will allow this epic clashbetween Saitama and this empowered Garou to be adapted in time. It’s possible the season may focus primarily on resolving the Monster Association clashes. This would mean the final fights seen would be between Saitama and Orochi or Terrible Tornado and Psykos, leaving fans waiting for the Garou and Saitama fight until a later adaptation. Still, Garou is likely to play a major role in the upcomingOne Punch ManSeason 3 as he continues to get stronger and build up for hisultimate showdown with the heroes.
