Summary

Roronoa Zoro is one of the most crucial charactersin theOne Pieceworld and also one who aims to be among the strongest in the world. Right from the get-go, Oda made sure to highlight his incredible appetite for battles and his desire to surpass all limits.

Over the years, Zoro has grown tremendously powerful, having gone from being a strong East Blue bounty hunter to becoming the Number 2 of a Yonko. Zoro will continue to evolve in the Final Saga as well, especially since he’s still far from his goal of becoming the strongest swordsman in the whole world. But, in the Final Saga, Zoro will inevitably get a major power-up that will push him to Yonko level, making him a massive threat to even Dracule Mihawk.

Zoro Needs To Get Stronger In The Final Saga

It goes without saying that Zoro is quite powerful at the moment. Fans know that Zoro possesses tremendous strength and that after Wano, he’s stronger than ever before. This is largely down to the fact that Zoro managed to awaken Conqueror’s Haki in the Wano Country arc, and he did so during his battle against Kaido first, where he unknowingly infused his sword with Conqueror’s Haki and scarred him across the chest.

I can’t lose. Until I defeat that man, not even death can take my life away. — Roronoa Zoro

Later on, in the battle against King,Zoro tapped into Conqueror’s Hakionce again, this time, learning how to infuse it. This allowed Zoro to progress to the next level as a fighter and beat Kaido’s strongest right-hand man, King the Wildfire. While Zoro progressed greatly in the Wano arc ofOne Piece, fans could see his limitations clearly. He wasn’t strong enough to maintain the flow of Conqueror’s Haki for long, which meant that he could only maintain his best form for a short span of time. Zoro still has limitations in One Piece, and he needs to overcome them one way or another, because as he is, he cannot defeat Dracule Mihawk and become the greatest swordsman in the world.

Why Zoro Is Destined For The Top

Zoro Beating Mihawk Is Inevitable In One Piece

Although Zoro isn’t strong enough to defeat Mihawk at the moment, fans know that eventually, he will go on to defeat him. This, naturally, means thatZoro will get even stronger in the current arcofOne Piece. Right now,One Pieceis in the Elbaf arc, and here, the Straw Hat Pirates will have their own set of challenges to face. As they fight there, they will get stronger and that goes without saying. At the same time, fans also know that Zoro will continue to thirst for power.

When a blade is permanently blackened, it goes up in rank. — Kozuki Sukiyaki

Right now, he knows that his control over Haki isn’t good enough.Zoro needs to improve the efficiency of his Haki, and learn to incorporate it better, which is something that he can do in the Elbaf arc of the story. But, that’s not all. Zoro can do more than just improve his Conqueror’s Haki in the Final Saga. To be able to beat Dracule Mihawk, Zoro must blacken his blades and make them stronger.

Zoro’s Final Power Up: 3 Black Blades

Zoro Will Finally Be Stronger Than Mihawk

If there’s one power-up that Zoro absolutely needs before he meets Mihawk, it is having 3 black blades. As fans know, Zoro used to have one black blade, Shusui, which he eventually gave to Wano. Now, however, he will have to blacken his own swords. Zoro needs to know the secret behind permanently blackening one’s blade, and as he does that, his swords will definitely rise in rank. How much they’ll rise isn’t known, but all 3 of his swords could end up becoming Supreme Grade Swords, increasing the total number of the blades to 15.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to the fans. In Wano, it was officially revealed they blackening a blade with cause it to rise in rank. As such, if Zoro manages to do that with all his swords, he will have three Supreme Grade black blades, which will push him even above Mihawk.
