If the arc didn’t have exciting elements already,Oda just threw one more into the mixwithOne Piecechapter 1145, where the possibility of a legendary figure, who is also considered by many to be the strongest pirate in theOne Pieceworld, was introduced in the story. In fact, this chapter might very well be the famous eye patch pirate that Oda has previously stated that he wants to introduce in the story.
Oda’s Message About The Eyepatch Pirate That He Wants To Introduce in One Piece
Oda is notorious for drawing up plans for certain arcs or characters years before they even show up in the story. Fans already know that most elements of the story that Oda shows in the arcs were planned by him long ago. In fact, Oda has himself stated that he even has the last panel ofOne Pieceplanned already, and that he already knows how to endOne Piece. As such, it is no surprise to know that fans take every comment or statement of his very seriously.Oda has made many interesting statementsover the years about various characters in the story, and one of them was about a special pirate with an eye patch. This character is yet to show up but will likely pop up in the story very soon. Here’s what Oda had to say about the eye patch pirate:
A pirate with an eye patch will appear in the final phase of One Piece. I’m itching to draw that character as soon as possible. Maybe people have a preconception that many pirates wear eye patches, but actually, I’ve never drawn any pirates with eye patches. – Eiichiro Oda, 2007
Why The Eyepatch Pirate Might Be Rocks D. Xebec
Rocks D. Xebec Was Just Introduced In Elbaf Again
The identity of Rocks D. Xebecis not fully revealed inOne Pieceyet, but Oda could very well reveal everything about him in this arc. This is simply because Rocks D. Xebec visited Elbaf long ago, and when he did, he met Loki many times. In fact, Loki even idolizes Rocks so fans will definitely see him in the flesh in Loki’s full flashback, which shouldn’t be too far away now.
I was simply born in the wrong era. — Loki, wanting to be a crewmate of Rocks.
As for the eye patch pirate, fans know for a fact that the eye patch pirate might very well be Rocks D. Xebec. For one, there aren’t many new pirates that will be introduced in the final saga ofOne Piece. The only pirates that the fans haveyet to see fully are Rocks D. Xebec, Joy Boy, and the Man with the Burn Scar. The eye patch pirate is most definitely one of these three characters.
Rocks makes a very exciting case since fans know that his full design is unknown to this day. Even though Oda has revealed his silhouette without an eye patch in the past, he’s notorious for drawing inaccurate silhouettes, which means Rocks might well be the eye patch pirate.
The Eyepatch Pirate Might Show Up In Loki’s Flashback
Fans know that Oda will soon draw Loki’s flashback. This flashback will have everything about Loki, from his birth to howhe got eventually chained in Elbaf. Fans will definitely see Loki meeting Rocks, which means the whole Rocks Pirates crew will be seen in Elbaf, and their goals will be revealed as well. Fans will see Loki being inspired by Rocks for themselves through his eyes as the flashback expands upon his character. Rocks, who Oda has hidden so well over the years, will definitely be revealed to the fans soon, and when his full design is revealed, he could be shown with an eye patch, attaching even more intrigue to his character.
