Summary

One Piecechapter 1147 gave quite a lot of exciting things to the fans to look forward to, and now, the Elbaf arc is most definitely going to tackle some immense battles that are to come over the next few chapters. Oda has already made it quite clear in the story that the Holy Knights are the main antagonists of the Elbaf arc ofOne Piece.

For now, three Holy Knights are currently on Elbaf, those being Gunko, Sommers, and Killingham. All three of them are very strong, but fans know for a fact that one of them stands out the most for different reasons, and that is none other than Gunko, and for mysterious reasons.

Why Gunko Is A Very Curious Case Among The Holy Knights

When it comes to Gunko’s first appearance, fans saw a woman covered with bandages and it was not quite clear as to why that was the case. Usually, Oda incorporates different reasons for different characters to hide their true identity, and with Gunko, it appears to be the same thing. More than the bandages, Gunko also has heterochromia, which is very interesting. While this is something rarely found in people, it could also be a hint from Oda that Gunko isn’t what she truly seems to be.

Mere humans? We’re Gods! — Gunko to the Straw Hats

Often,Gunko switches personalities, which fans have already seen on different occasions. When Gunko wanted to kill the children, she clearly said that she wanted to see them burn to a crisp. But, a second later, Gunko had the most joyous face when she was eating food created by Killingham’s imagination.

Gunko also blushes like a child at times, and in general, gives off a rather strange vibe that one wouldn’t expect from the most evil creatures on Earth. She even likes the music of Brook, which is mostly pertaining to the true soul of humans and even true freedom. Gunko also wants for there to be a New World order, and she’s clearly unhappy with the current world order, above all, Gunko knows Nika.

Gunko Felt Pain When She Hit Brook

Gunko Felt A Heartache Upon Damaging Brook

Fans know thatGunko is a villain in the Elbaf arcofOne Piece, but some of her actions make her seem more like someone who is being forced to do her job. When Gunko attacked the Straw Hat Pirates, she said she’s simply following orders. Later, when she asked Brook to become her slave and faced his refusal, she kicked him, but shortly after, felt immense pain in her chest. Clearly, Gunko didn’t want to kick Brook, but she still did.

The only conclusion that one can come to here is that Gunko isn’t truly what she seems to be, but rather a puppet of someone from the World Government. When looking closely at her powers, this makes even more sense. Gunko has the Aro Aro no Mi, which fans have also seen Imu use on Cobra and Sabo. All things only point to one conclusion.

Is Gunko A Puppet Of Imu?

Based on everything that Oda has hinted at in the story,Gunko seems to be a puppet of Imu to control, meaning right now, everything that Gunko is doing is likely Imu’s very own action. Gunko could even be serving as a vessel for Imu’s powers to some extent. It is also very curious that only Gunko can cast the Abyss. Undoubtedly, Gunko has direct connections to Imu and it appears that her body is actively rejecting what she’s doing, making her a candidate for a potential ally later down the line, if she truly is a puppet forced to do everything against her will.
