Although Rocks has been mentioned before on multiple occasions, this was the first time in the story that Rocks was allowed to act his own actions out and play an active role.
This was absolutely massive for the fans and the hype for what’s to come in Elbaf has gone through the roof. Based on what Oda showed to the fans inOne Piecechapter 1145, it can now be stated with confidence that the full flashback with Rocks D. Xebec in the story isn’t far at all now.
Oda Gives A Small Glimpse Of Rocks D. Xebec
When Loki was introduced to the fans properly in the Elbaf arc of the story, few knew that he’d be as incredible as he’s turning out to be, and even those who had very high expectations from him didn’t expect him to be connected to Rocks D. Xebec. InOne Piecechapter 1145, fans found out that Loki has only ever idolized one person in his whole life that fans know of so far, and that person is none other than the captain of the Rocks Pirates, Rocks D. Xebec.

Given that Captain Rocks died 38 years ago on God Valley, he must have come to Elbaf long before 38 years. This means Loki was still a kid at this time, yet he wanted to set out to the sea with him. It was confirmed to the fans that Loki Idolized Rocks the same way Luffy does with Shanks. Just like Luffy, Loki was rejected by Rocks, and this led to a battle between the two. Much to the surprise of everyone, Loki received the beating of a lifetime and was left in a near-death state. While that sounds horrible, it doesn’t affect Loki much since he wanted to grow stronger and eventually destroy the world.
More interestingly, during this short flashback-type content, fans saw Rocks speaking properly for the very first time. Rocks clearly appears to be a rather stern individual, and given his strength, one can see why he is hated as he is. As far as Loki goes, it was confirmed to the fans in the previous chapter that even though he lost the battle against Xebec, his admiration for this individual never went away.
Loki’s Flashback Will Finally Reveal Rocks To The Fans
Loki’s True Flashback Is Still To Come
Fans saw a good glimpse of Rocks D. Xebec inOne Piecechapter 1145. However, it isn’t a proper look for the fans. Fans only got to see Xebec in silhouette, and although he spoke, it was clear to see that this flashback was inevitable.

What’s great is the fact that Oda will undoubtedly have to cover Loki’s story through a flashback soon enough. When that happens,fans will get to see events from Loki’s birth, all the way to the point where he set out to the sea and fought some powerful characters.
His Whole Story Will Be Revealed Later
This also means fans will get to see the pointwhere Rocks D. Xebecand his crew came to Elbaf, and this time around, Rocks will fully be revealed to the fans. As to why Rocks will definitely be revealed later down the line, the reason is simple. Rocks said himself that he was in Elbaf on some business and that only means that he was connected to Harald in some way.
When Loki’s story is explained in its entirety,the arrival of the Rocks Pirates, their meeting with Loki, and even the reason for Loki’s obsession with them will be revealed to the fans fully. It is only a matter of time before Oda explores Rocks to the fullest, and although his entire life won’t be covered in this particular arc, fans should expect to see his character design, motivations, and a glimpse of his strength here, which is enough by itself.
