This post contains spoilers for One Piece.
Summary
Currently,One Pieceis covering the Elbaf arc. Fans have been waiting to see the nation of giants for years, and Oda granted their wish in the Final Saga. As soon as the Straw Hats made landfall on Elbaf, it was obvious that the giants would play an important role in the arc.
Eiichiro Oda has backed up this claim with a statement in Chapter 1146. DuringGunko’s confrontation with Nami and others, the former spoke about the giants and how they would affect the outcome of the Final War. Gunko said whichever side the Giants pick will have a huge advantage in the war and a better chance of winning.
The Giants Will Decide The Outcome Of The Final War
The Giants are widely consideredto be the strongest race in One Piece. They tower over most races and have tremendous physical strength that puts others to shame. If one were to strip away Devil Fruits and Haki, no one would be able to beat the Giants in a fight. This is why people around the world are so eager to see the Giants pick a side.
And which side the giants pledge their allegiance to will have a profound effect on the outcome of the war. —Gunko
Fans have already seen the damage that Brogy and Dorry can inflict on their opponents. A single combined attack from the two giants is strong enough to sink a ship. Given their insane strength, it’s rather apparent that both of them are going to play a pivotal role in the current battle in Elbaf. The Straw Hatsneed backup against the God’s Knights, which is why the two captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates are invaluable.
Aside from Dorry and Brogy, there are two other Giants who have the potential to change the tide of battle, and they are:
Both of them are the sons of the late King Harald, and they are highly rated by the people of Elbaf.
Loki Could Prove To Be A Big Asset In Elbaf
Loki, in particular, is one to keep an eye out for. He is a behemoth who is said to be unstoppable in battle. Loki towers over other Giants, so he can overwhelm them with sheer physical strength. Moreover, Loki wields the Ragnir, a legendary weapon capable of summoning lightning bolts. In addition to this, Loki ate an unnamed Devil Fruit that is supposedly very powerful. The Giant has yet to show off what it can do. But it shouldn’t be long before it is revealed.
So far, Loki has been set up as a bad person who will annihilate anyone in his path. However, it could be just Oda trying to trick fans into believing that Loki is dangerous. In fact, there is a good chance that Loki will join the Straw Hats as their eleventh member. The people of Elbaf are not his biggest fans, as they call him the “Accused Prince.” They have even ostracized him for murdering his father. So, they won’t mind if Loki leaves the country and joins the pirates. In the recent chapter, the friendship between Luffy and Loki also seems to have developed a bit more. It is also worthmentioning that the two have certain similarities, so they will get along just fine.
Who Will Win The War In Elbaf?
As previously stated, the battle in Elbaf is still ongoing. There are three members of the God’s Knights, namely Gunko, Sommers, and Killingham. All three of them are armed with insanely overpowered Devil Fruits, making it nearly impossible to beat them in combat. They can regenerate from damage, which makes them even harder to beat.
However, it is plausible to assume this ability can be overcome with the help of Haki. The Straw Hats will need some guidance, and it will likelybe provided by Scopper Gaban, who is one of the most experienced fighters in One Piece. The legendary pirate has fought numerous battles, so it shouldn’t take too long for him to deduce the weakness of the God’s Knights. Once that is done, the Straw Hats can launch a counteroffensive and rid the people of Elbaf of the so-called gods.
