Even though many eyes are on the return of another post-apocalyptic series on HBO right now, there’s always room for all thingsThe Walking Dead. In the spin-off series, Maggie and Negan headed off to Manhattan together to rescue Maggie’s son, Hershel, from The Croat, which also saw Negan being hunted by a lawman called Armstrong. Now, as Season 2 peaks over the horizon, including anewDead Cityposter, the show’s behind-the-scenes teaser showcases Negan and one of the series' most cruel and sinister characters being reunited. In the clip, Croat returns Lucille to Negan, with Negan then holding the barbed wire bat, saying, “On your knees.”
Jeffery Dead Morgan talked about being so attached to Lucillethat he won’t let anyone else hold her. “So there are people who always rush up to say, ‘Jeff, can we take Lucille?’ No, I got it.” Morgan also talks about his Lucille tattoo that he got, and even though his real-life wife, Hilarie Burton, played Lucille in the show, unfortunately for her, the tattoo is actually dedicated to the bat. “I’ve never had a prop in my life as an actor that felt so innately mine and feels like an extension of the character and me personally. I adore her,” gushed Morgan.
“To have Lucille back, that’s when Negan is at his most Negan.”
Morgan also talks aboutThe Walking Dead: Dead CitySeason 2 being “a new step in a direction that we haven’t gone before. It’s going to be great. Let’s frigging go.” Even though we all know that Maggie’s husbandGlenn was savagely beaten to death by Negan inTWD, Maggie sought the help of the charming and sarcastic baddie in rescuing her son, Hershel. After her son was finally rescued, Negan had to stay behind, and this is where viewers will pick up from in Season 2. Fans are already worried thatNegan and Maggie could develop a romantic relationship, as bizarre as that sounds, so who knows what the duo will get up to when May 4 rolls around?
