Multi-Tool is a space explorer’s best friend inNo Man’s Sky. From miningrare materials, like Cadmium, to fighting Sentinels, the Multi-Tool truly lives up to its name. Depending on your needs, you might have multiple Multi-Tools with dedicated loadouts for each.
If you grab one too many Multi-Tools, you can quickly dispose of the ones you don’t need in a not-so-obvious place. This short guide shows where to sell Multi-Tools inNo Man’s Skyand how you can acquire new ones to fill empty slots.
How to Sell Multi-Tools in No Man’s Sky
You can salvage Multi-Tools at theMulti-Tool Decommissioning terminal aboard the Space Anomaly. Summon the Space Anomaly and, after docking at it, head to theleft side of the landing pads. There’s a glowing blue platform that takes you directly to the Iteration: Tethys. Tethys is in the same room as the giant teleporter. Alternatively, you can fly up on the balcony using the jetpack, just like the player in the screenshot above.
Swap to the Multi-Tool you want to sell, interact with the Multi-Tool Decommissioning terminalnext to Tethys, and confirm salvage. Just like when salvaging a starship, you get materials worth a certain amount of Units, depending on the Multi-Tool’s rarity and number of slots.
Multi-Tool’s worth isn’t affected by installed upgrades and modules. Remove them before salvaging the Multi-Tool to avoid wasting resources.
After you get your scrap, sell it using any Galactic Trade Terminal. Depending on the system and its economy, you might be able to sell the items at a slightly higher price. You may also get modules and Multi-Tool Expansion Units when scrapping a Multi-Tool.
How to Get New Multi-Tools in No Man’s Sky
Now that you have got rid of low-rarity cheap Multi-Tools, it’s time to fill the slots with better ones. You can pick up new Multi-Tools onSpace Stations, Trading Outposts, and Minor Settlements. Any of these locations may have an S-Class Multi-Tool, but you have a higher chance of finding one in systems with three-star economies.
you may also get aSentinel Multi-Tool from a Harmonic Camp on a Dissonant planet. Follow the same process as if you were looking for a Sentinel Interceptor to find the camp with the Multi-Tool. This is also a good opportunity to hunt for a new ship for your collection.
Having many Multi-Tools is all fun and games, but remember that you also need to upgrade them andincrease their technology slots, which can cost a lot, should you decide to do it with Units, so spend responsibly.
