Baby Pokemon first appeared in Gen 2. With the release ofPokemon Gold and Silver, eight pocket monsters of this type were introduced, including fan favorites like Togepi and Pichu. InPokemon GO, the only way toget baby Pokemonis by hatching eggs, as they are unavailable in the wild.Pokemon GOplayers will soon have a chance to get even more Baby Pokemon thanks to an upcoming event.
Pokemon GOaccidentally announced the Growing Up event, which will run from Friday, May 2 at 10 am to Wednesday, July 13, 2025 at 8 pm local time. During this period,Pokemon GOplayers will hatch Riolu, Happiny, and Wimpod from 2 km eggs, while 5 km eggs will hatch Mime Jr. and 10 km eggs will hatch Toxel. All the critters that trainers hatch will have a shiny of being a shiny, while Toxel may still hatch from 10 km eggs after the event ends. Trainers will also have an increased chance of finding shiny Magikarp, Swablu, Wimpod, Pokemon XXS, and XXL in the wild, and of hatching shiny Wimpod. Other bonuses available will be double XP when evolving Pokemon, and double Candy when hatching eggs.
The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed, and their rewards must be claimed before Wednesday, June 02, 2025, at 8 pm local time.
Pokemon GOwill increase the wild spawns of Magikarp, Swablu, Wimpod, Foongus, Dedenne, Cutiefly, Nymble, and Rookidee, with all except the pre-evolution Corviknight having a shiny chance. A $4.99 Timed Research will reward trainers with an Incubator, 15 Pinap Berries, event-themed encounters, and a pose for their avatar. Timed Research tasks must be completed and rewards claimed by Wednesday, Jul 20, 2025, at 8 pm local time. A Collection Challenge focused onhatching Pokemonwill give XP, Stardust, and an encounter with Tandemaus, and a $4.99 box will be sold in the Pokemon GO Web Store.
