Netflix’s animated anthology series,Love, Death + Robots,makes its highly anticipated return in only a few weeks, which will see 10 brand-new strange and wild episodes being brought to life in the most imaginative way possible. As the animated series gets closer to its release, the streaming giant has unlocked an official volume 4 trailer that will most certainly get devotees of the show wishing they could watch it right now.
Created by Tim Miller and co-executiveproduced by David Fincher, since premiering in 2019, the highly rated previous three seasons of the series have won a slew of prestigious awards, which include 13 Emmy Awards and another for Outstanding Short Form Animated Program. ForSeason 3’sJibaroepisode, a firm favorite among its fanbase due to its stunning animation, unique artistic style and its underlying metaphor of toxic relationships, Alberto Mielgo, a multi-award-winning animator, won the juried Emmy Award for best individual achievement in animation. Featuring giant babies, cyborg fighters, alien invasions, and dinosaur gladiators,Love, Death + Robotsseason 4 will also includeRed Hot Chili Peppersband members Anthony Kiedis, Flea, John Frusciante, and Chad Smith in an episode called “Can’t Stop,” as well as MrBeast and Kevin Hart.
New Love, Death + Robots Volume 4 Trailer Sees Full Voice Cast and Red Hot Chili Peppers
Alongside the new volume 4trailer for the upcoming season ofLove, Death and Robots, a full listing of the animated series' episodes has also been revealed, as well as its voice cast. Director David Fincher’s episode “Can’t Stop” will see the Red Hot Chili Peppers as digital puppets voiced by Anthony Kiedis, Flea, John Frusciante, and Chad Smith. Director Robert Valley’s episode about “a post-apocalyptic city where warring gangs follow a bushido-like code of honor,” will star John Boyega, Ed Skrein, Sienna King, and Rahul Kohli.
In an episode called “The Other Large Thing,” about a cat with plans for world domination, Chris Parnell, John Oliver, Fred Tatasciore and Rachel Kimsey are the voice actors, withdirector Tim Millertaking the reins on “The Screaming of The Tyrannosaur,” which will star MrBeast and Bai Ling as gladiator dinosaurs fight to the death. “Close Encounters of the Mini Kind”, a tribute to classic sci-fi stories of alien invasion, is directed by Robert Bisi and Andy Lyon, “Spider Rose”, set in the same cyberpunk universe as season 3’s “Swarm,” is by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Blur Studio and stars Emily O’Brien, Feodor Chin, Piotr Michael and Sumalee Montano.
“How Zeke Got Religion” episode’s voice cast includes Keston John, Braden Lynch, Roger Craig Smith, Gary Furlong, Bruce Thomas, Andrew Morgado and Scott Whyte, while “Smart Appliances, Stupid Owners” will star Melissa Villaseñor, Ronny Chieng, Amy Sedaris, Kevin Hart, Josh Brener, Nat Faxon, Niecy Nash-Betts and Brett Goldstein. Last but not least, “For He Can Creep”, set in 1757 London about a poet in an insane asylum who thinks Satan wants him to write a verse that will end the world, stars Dan Stevens, JB Blanc, Jim Broadbent, Nika Futterman, Jane Leeves, and Dave B. Mitchell.
So far,Love, Death and Robotsseason 4is shaping up to be another incredible watch. Although it remains to be seen whether it will hit the high notes as season 3 did, with what looks to be super interesting narratives and a stellar voice cast line-up, the new season could be its best yet, especially with Miller and Fincher at the helm.
