Summary
In the world ofMy Hero Academia, Pro-Heroes are the best of the best when it comes to fending off powerful villains and keeping civilians safe. As a result, they need to be capable of holding their own in a battle, considering there’s never any telling what unique and dangerous Quirk a villain may have hidden up their sleeves. All the Pro-Heroes in the story are ranked in an order, and while part of this is related to their reputation and popularity among the public, the major factor that dictates their placement is their strength.
Of course, anyone who is familiar with the series will know that this doesn’t just mean physical strength, mobility, and durability but also Quirks, since these can provide someone with a major power boost. WithMy Hero Academia’smain story over and the anime nearing its end, it feels like a fitting time to match up the Pro-Heroes in the series to see who is the strongest of them all. Before jumping in, this list will be looking at Pro-Heroes before the end of the series and will only focus on the mainline story rather thanVigilantes.
8Edgeshot
Edgeshot’s Quick And Deadly Fighting Style Has Taken Down Numerous Tough Foes
Though thesneaky assassinEdgeshot may not get quite as much screentime as many of his allies, he’s still managed to prove why he’s worthy of being ranked so high in the Pro-Hero polls. Thanks to his Quirk, Foldabody, Edgeshot can essentially turn his limbs into giant, lethal spikes, allowing him to penetrate any Villains that stand in his way, even if they have a way of enhancing their defenses.
This was most evident when he fought Re-Destro, who had mutated his body beyond recognition by utilizing his Stress Quirk, only for Edgeshot to skewer him on the spot. Even All For One felt the need to avoid Edgeshot’s attack early on in the series, and though he doesn’t share the same level of durability as some other Pro-Heroes, he’s still a real threat when taking on an opponent one-on-one.
7Mt. Lady
The Mighty Giant Of The Pro-Heroes Uses Her Impressive Size To Her Advantage When Fighting
Though the massive brute did eventually escape, barely anybody in the series up to that point had even been able to even harm Gigantomachia, let alone hold it off for so long, highlighting just how insanely powerful Mt. Lady truly is. Of course, her significant size advantage also makes it difficult for villains to damage Mt. Lady, with only those possessing immense power being able to deal any real damage to this giantess.
6Jeanist
Jeanist’s Mastery Over His Fiber Quirk Has Made Him A Real Force To Be Reckoned With
A common theme inMy Hero Academiais that any Quirk, no matter how obscure or useless it may initially seem, can always be used to great effect with a bit of hard work and practice. Jeanist is a prime example of this, mastering hisFiber Master Quirkto such a degree that he is able to single-handedly restrain even the most powerful of villains in the blink of an eye.
Whether it’s Gigantomachia or multiple high-end Nomus, Jeanist has taken down numerous tough foes, and even if he does find himself on the backfoot, he’s more than happy using his fiber to hold his body together to get the job done. Jeanist is one of those characters who often goes under the radar for a lot of people due to being overshadowed by the likes of Endeavor and All Might, but that shouldn’t take away from how strong this guy has proven himself to be over the course of the series.
5Mirko
A Fast And Deadly Powerhouse Who Will Never Back Down From A Fight, No Matter The Odds
Considering even a single Nomu is viewed as a massive threat for the heroes to deal with, not many people can say they’ve been able to take down multiple of these beasts, especially in quick succession, but Mirko has earned that bragging right. Though she had been shown in small flashes here and there leading up to that moment, her battle against the High-Ends is where fans got to witness Mirko’s immense speed and strength, which are provided by her Rabbit Quirk, in all their glory.
Mirko’s grit and willingness to go on, no matter how bad things get, also contribute to her overall strength as a hero. Even after losing an arm and a leg, she was still willing to continue the fight, so it’s no wonder why she has become so feared among the villains of society.
4Hawks
Hawks Can Execute A Target In Mere Seconds With His Deadly Feathers
Though Hawks is only introduced at roughly the midpoint ofMy Hero Academia, he quickly becomes a key player in the wider story, acting as a kind of undercover agent who is tasked withgetting his hands dirtyfor the sake of keeping hero society intact. This kind of work suited him perfectly, considering how fast and deadly he is. When people talk about Hawks' incredible speed, they are referring to not only how fast he is at moving around thanks to his wings but also how he is able to kill a person in mere seconds with his feathers.
As demonstrated when he mercilessly wiped out Twice, when Hawks is going all-out, he can easily wipe out an entire room of villains by shooting his feathers around like a hurricane of bullets. Hawks was even able to hold out for a while against All For One, and while the evil mastermind would eventually steal his Quirk from him later down the line, it’s still no easy feat plucking up the courage and strength to hold off such a frightening villain.
3Endeavor
With His Hellflame Quirk, Endeavor Can Obliterate Anyone Courageous Enough To Stand Up To Him
Becoming the number 2 top hero in all of Japan at the age of 20 is nothing to scoff at, but it’s something Endeavor managed to achieve after demonstrating the ferocity and potential of hisHellflame Quirk. In the main story, where Endeavor is older and more experienced, he is able to use Hellflame to its maximum capabilities, being able to unleash attacks like Prominence Burn, which is so absurdly powerful that it was able to deal significant damage to both All For One and Shigaraki at a time when they seemed unstoppable.
Unless a villain has a Quirk that allows them to counteract or resist the flames, nobody is making it out of a fight with Endeavor in one piece. The fact that he hovered between being the second and first top-ranking hero in Japan for most of his life, alongside having the most solved cases of any Pro-Hero, is a testament to Endeavor’s incredible strength and durability on the field.
2Star And Stripe
Being Able To Change Properties And Natural Laws Gives Cathleen Bate A Huge Advantage In Combat
It’s unfortunate that Star and Stripe, the top hero of America, istaken out of the story so suddenlysince it was made very clear that she was an absolute powerhouse in terms of strength. However, while her physical prowess makes her more than capable of holding her own in a fight, what makes her so dangerous is her Quirk, New Order. With just a few words, Star and Stripe can change the properties of anything she touches, so if she wants to turn a pocket of air into a vacuum or to hold a laser beam as a sword, she can do just that.
Essentially, the world is her playground, and as seen in her epic duel with Shigaraki, she can quickly turn a fight in her favor when she begins throwing out commands. She was even able to manipulate her Quirk so that she could strike a giant beam onto the floor in an attempt to kill Shigaraki, which looked like a nuclear explosion going off from a distance, emphasizing the omnipotent level of power possessed by America’s pro-Hero.
1All Might
The Central Pillar That Kept Hero Society Stable For Many Years
All Might is often credited for being the hero who allowed Japan to enjoy an era of peace, and he was able to do so because, to be frank, he’s a freak of nature when it comes to strength and durability. All Might’s punches hit so hard that he was even able tosend a Nomu flying into the stratosphere, despite the monster possessing a Quirk that literally absorbs the shock of an attack. Not long after, All Might, despite not even having his Quirk by this point, would pulverize All For One into the ground, managing to overcome all of his opponent’s Quirks to earn the victory.
Author Horikohsi honestly made a good call when he decided to keep All Might in his weaker form after that fight, considering he would be able to solve a lot of the hero’s problems single-handedly if he was still up to speed. In his prime, though, All Might was such an intimidating figure that he almost brought the crime rate of Japan down to 0%, and after seeing him in action, it’s easy to understand why so many villains decided to give up committing crime altogether, since running into this guy certainly wouldn’t end well.
