Clavicus Vile, also known as the Child-god of the Moringstar and Prince of Trickery and Bargains, has a tough challenge in store for players inOblivion Remastered. He’ll need players to seek out a warrior named Umbra and bring back her sword as a trophy to offer to the Daedric Prince. Umbra is one of the toughest enemies in the game, and you’ll need to have some serious DPS if you want to have a chance at defeating her. In exchange for doing this favor, he’ll grant players the Masque of Clavicus Vile, a heavy-armor headgear that fortifies personality.
How to Start the Shrine of Clavicus Vile Quest in Oblivion Remastered
This shrine is part of theBlood of Daedra main quest inOblivion Remastered.
Players can find the Shrine of Clavicus Viletowards the southwest of the Imperial CityinOblivion Remastered. Hope you have some disposable income, as talking to the statue requires making an offering of 500 gold coins. Clavicus will speak to the players and task them to retrieve the sword of Umbra, a weapon that contains her soul.
If you’ve played the original Oblivion, you’ll know the iconic character and her legendary sword. You’ll also know thatshe’s a level 50 enemyand defeating her is no easy task. However, to complete the Shrine of Clavicus Vile quest, players will need to defeat her and retrieve her sword. The Daedric Lord will hint at the whereabouts of Umbra by telling players to start their search at Pell’s Gate.
Defeating Umbra & Getting the Masque of Clavicus Vile
Instead of heading out to search for Umbra, players can go directly to her bytraveling to the Vindasel Ayelid Ruins, just southeast of Clavicus Vile’s Shrine. After entering the ruins, players will need to make their way through the hallways while eliminating rats and mudcrabs. There’s a chamber with poisonous gas that you’ll need to be wary of.
Once you reach Umbra’s chambers, players can actually talk to her, but it’ll lead to a boss fight pretty quickly. If you have high stats and gear, feel free to engage in a proper battle with Umbra. For players who are constantly getting defeated by her, they canperch up on one of the pillars and keep shooting her with arrowsfrom afar.
Once Umbra is eliminated, take her sword back to the Shrine of Clavicus Vile, and he’llgrant theMasque of Clavicus Vileto players inOblivion Remastered. It’s one of the weakest Daedric artifacts in the game, and it’s a tough decision to exchange the sword of Umbra to get it. However,players can refuse to give the swordto Clavicus, and the Shrine of Clavicus Vile quest will still be marked as completed.
