During the officialMario Kart WorldDirect, Nintendo went into plenty of details regarding the Switch 2 launch title. Mario Kart World Introduces Dash Food and New Cosmetics
While exploringMario Kart World’s free roam mode, players will come across a diner-style restaurant called Yoshi’s in the various regions of the map. As the name implies, players can use the drive-thru to pick up Dash Food, inspired by the region they’re currently in. The food is utilized like a traditionalMario Kartitem, and eating it will not only provide a slight burst of speed, but also change the visual look of the character. Better yet, once the outfit has been unlocked, players have full access to it and can select it for that character within the main menu for otherMario Kart Worldgame modes.
While Mario Kart World is shaping up to be the most feature-rich game the franchise has seen so far, it can’t seem to escape the controversy that currently surrounds the Switch 2. One of the more controversial reveals for theNintendo Switch 2 was the pricing structure, with the base console originally revealed at $450, withMario Kart Worldsetting a new standard at $80. Furious at the prices, fans have been calling for Nintendo to drop the price, spamming messages during Nintendo livestreams and making their voices heard over social media. So far, Nintendo has yet to really comment or announce any changes due to the backlash.
