Summary
Solo Levelingis an anime adaptation that has been on-watch for years by both anime and manga fans alike and did not fail to deliver. The first season was pure thrills, featuring outstanding action andfast-paced character development, with Jinwoo’s transformation being a notable example. The second season ofSolo Leveling, however, delivers even more.
Although several characters possess paranormal abilities and techniques, the luck that tends to favor some of them is definitely worth noting. Be it by sheer luck or luck mixed with drive and gut instinct, theseluckySolo Levelingcharactershave survived near-death experiences and achieved targets otherwise unattainable. Those lucky moments stand as very significant instances in their lives, making them the characters they are today.
8Ahn Sangmin
The Lucky Recruiter Who Got Scammed
Ahn Sangmin’s luck is kind of comical, as he also got scammed despite being lucky. He was the first person to discover Jinwoo’s secret all on his own, fromthe purchase of several C-Rank dungeonsby Jinho to Jinwoo’s presence in almost every abnormal event at the time.
After witnessing another abnormal situation at one of the gates they purchased, where the team was stationed outside and the Jinwoo/Jinho duo was inside, he tried to recruit this absolute machine to join his guild. Even though he was scammed in the process, he was lucky enough to get Jinwoo’s contact number and refused to give up on his potential recruit.
7Yoo Soohyun
Fortunate By Association
Another benefactor of the relationship between Yoo Jinho and Sung Jinwoo, Soohyun was not in a near-death scenario but can still be considered lucky, nonetheless. Being a hunter who has no real interest in hunting is not a common occurrence, but it was exactly what Jinho needed in the third member of their guild.
She had even planned on declining his request but changed her mind when she heard the other member was Jinwoo. She also took and posted a selfie with him that went viral, putting Jinwoo in an awkward situation on the day of the guild’s first official raid as he got swarmed by reporters.
6Lee Joohee
Lucked Out, But At What Cost?
Despite being a B-rank healer, Joohee is extremely afraid of the dangers lurking in dungeons. Unfortunately for her, she experienced one of the worst dungeon incidents that could ever happen to a hunter, but fortunately, she was one of its survivors.
While everyone else had their fair share of fortunate events, it took a tremendous amount of luck for her to survive the dungeon. She was near death more often than not and was saved in the nick of time almost every time by Jinwoo. Sadly, the experience traumatized her, hinderingher capabilities as a healerand later making her retire altogether.
5Song Chi-Yul
A Survivor Of The Double Dungeon Incident
Being the leader of the raid team that experienced the Double Dungeon incident, Chi-Yul was not only a conduit for the fortunate events that befell Jinwoo but also a receiver of the blessings of lady luck. Even though he lost an arm in the dungeon, he was still fortunate enough to be a survivor, barely escaping with his life by relying on his gut instincts and those of Jinwoo.
He was alsosaved by Jinwoo in the Dungeon and Prisoners arc, where he and Joohee got ambushed by Taeshik. Although he possessed considerable skill, even with one arm, he might have been done for if not for Jinwoo.
4Yoo Myunghan
Survival Through Family Connection
For someone who was initially unaccepting of his son, Jinho, leaving his guild to join that of Jinwoo, Myunghan’s luck came at the time he needed it the most. He had initially planned on making his son recruit Jinwoo because of his skill, but after hearing of Jinho’s plan, he decided to cut off Jinho entirely and kicked him out.
However, he fell victim to the sickness known as Eternal Slumber, the same one that plagued Jinwoo’s mother. If not for Jinwoo’s unhappiness at his friend’s distress, he might not have been saved. Myunghan returned the favor afterward, promising to keep Jinwoo’s sister and mother safe should Jinwoo himself die.
3Han Song-Yi
Luck By Abandonment
One of the few who were hired by Jinho to stand outside the gate and do nothing while he and Jinwoo cleared the dungeon, Song-Yi’s fortunate connection to Jinwoo is one that had a significant impact on her life. After walking into the dungeon andfinding out that it was a Red Gate, her original team abandoned her with Jinwoo to go kill the dungeon’s boss.
This abandonment was her saving grace; the entire team, save for Kim Chul, got wiped out by enemies that Jinwoo easily handled. The terrifying experience, which she survived by sheer luck, scared her, causing her to take her education seriously and go back to school.
2Yoo Jinho
Survived A Near-Death Trap Thanks To A Strong Ally
The day Jinho met Jinwoo was one of the luckiest days of his life. After joining an unfamiliar strike team with Jinwoo, whom he did not know of, he nearly lost his life in the trap set for them by the team but was saved by Jinwoo’s skills.
This particular streak of luck changed his life. He went from struggling to complete the quota needed to create a guild to raiding dungeons in record time and with Sung Jinwoo on his side as well. It is almost comical to think that he was once afraid of Jinwoo and thought he was doomed in the dungeon.
1Sung Jinwoo
Blessed By The System
Sung Jinwoo is undeniably theluckiest character inSolo Leveling. Although he did have to use his wit and quick thinking to survive, being one of the six surviving hunters who experienced the Double Dungeon is definitely not because of his strength alone. Not only did he survive the dungeon, but he was also the one chosen by the system, which turned his entire life around for the better.
Aside from the system making Sung Jinwoo a hunter whose growth in strength and skill is continuous and never-ending, it also gives him access to extremely rare items that come in handy, such asthe elixir of life that he usedto save his mother.
