The development of the RPG title commenced way back near the end of 2014, with its first public reveal taking place in 2016. After PlayStation took the game under its wing,Lost Soul Asidewas eventually announced to be hitting shelves in May 2025. In the build up to that, Ultizero Games also sharedLost Soul Aside’s PC specificationsin February, further stirring fan excitement. But, despite everything, it has now been confirmed that the fantasy game’s launch date has been pushed into the future by a few more months.

In a new announcement, Ultizero Games CEO Yang Bing revealed thatLost Soul Asideis set to roll out on August 29, roughly three months after its original release date. He stated that the decision was made to offer the studio more time to polish the game and align it with the team’s internally set standards. Echoing this sentiment, the game director mentioned that the team was “committed to delivering a high-quality game experience.” This update, which came just a month prior toLost Soul Aside’s planned launch, also underlined Ultizero’s appreciation of the encouraging fan feedback for the game so far.

Lost Soul Aside Gets New Release Date

Interestingly, fans seem to have taken kindly toLost Soul Aside’s release getting delayed, judging by the replies to the announcement on Twitter. While some urged Ultizero Games to take the time to meet its desired quality standards, others expressed relief at theFinal Fantasy-inspired gameskipping a stacked release window, which falls close to the launch date of other highly anticipated games such asElden Ring NightreignandMario Kart World.

Ever since the phenomenal launch ofBlack Myth: Wukongin 2024, the expectations surrounding AAA projects coming out of China have experienced a multifold increase. As a consequence,Lost Soul Asidealso has a considerable amount of hypearound it, which has only been amplified by the trailers and other information released till now. However, whether Ultizero’s action-heavy game, which has been in development for a decade, leaves a lasting impression on fans or not is something only time will tell.
