AsThe Eternal Die’s release draws nearer, studio Stormteller Games has shared a new developer diary, which Game Rant can now exclusively reveal. The three-minute video features an interview with Oskar Hanska, the narrative designer and writer of the upcoming game, who discussed variousaspects ofThe Eternal Die, including its unusual choice of a protagonist. “One of the things we did early on was that we decided on this game not beingLost in Random 2,” Hanska recalls. That decision ultimately led the team to choose Aleksandra as the game’s main character.
The Eternal Die’s Protagonist Was Lost in Random’s Antagonist
Aleksandra, also known as the Queen of Random, was the main antagonist of thefirstLost in Randomgame. With the sequel shifting genres and leaning more into roguelite action, Stormteller felt that making Aleksandra the new protagonist was a fitting choice. Hanska confirmed that the “intense and awesome voice acting” that defined the original will carry over into the sequel, all the while praising voice actor Elsie Lovelock for her powerful performance as Aleksandra. “She brought everything into that role,” the narrative designer opined. Stormteller’s latest developer diary even includes a few previews of some of the many dramatic voice lines fromLost in Random: The Eternal Die.
TheLost in Randomsequel doesn’t yet have a concrete release date, with publisher Thunderful so far only attaching a summer 2025 release window to the project. The upcoming roguelite is in development for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.Lost in Random: The Eternal Diewill also be a day-one Xbox Game Pass release.
