Recently, Jujutsu Kaisen held an exhibition event, and during the event, Gege revealed some very interesting information about Kenjaku, a villain who was the source of some huge problems in the story. Fans were disappointed by Kenjaku’s end, but Gege’s initial plans for him proved he was always bound to meet his end.
Gege’s Original Plans For Kenjaku
Kenjaku Was Always Supposed to Lose In The End
Currently,Jujutsu Kaisenfans are being treated to a lot of new information as the series held an exhibition event. Thanks to this event,a Q&A by the creator, Gege Akutami, was revealed. Since it covered events up to Volume 27 of the series, it covered a lot of interesting questions, especially when it comes to Gojo vs Sukuna, and at the same time, other characters that received the spotlight in the volume.
I coveted his curse manipulation and these exact circumstances. You didn’t have Shoko Ieiri get rid of Suguru Geto’s body, did you? — Kenjaku
Notably, Gege revealed his original plans for one of the main villains in the series, and arguably the biggest, as he was the catalyst for all the events that unfolded inJujutsu Kaisen, Kenjaku. While Sukuna is the strongest villain,Kenjaku is the mastermind behind everythingand why Sukuna was even able to come back in the modern era in the first place. With how important Kenjaku was, Gege recently revealed that he was always destined to lose.
“Kenjaku was always supposed to lose” — Gege Akutami
In Gege’s mind, Kenjaku never had a chance anyway right from the beginning. As fans know, Kenjaku was killed in the manga by Yuta after the former had a bizarre fight with Takaba.
Kenjaku’s Loss Could Have Been Handled Better
Kenjaku’s Death Was Underwhelming
Fans don’t mind that Kenjaku lost. What many fans disliked, however, was how he lost and eventually died. After all,Kenjaku was one of the two biggest villains in the series, but he was simply one shot by Yuta from behind, which is quite underwhelming for a main villain of a story as massive asJujutsu Kaisen. This is especially even more upsetting when he won against Yuki, which was a very good fight. If Gege wanted to kill him, there were definitely better ways.
The space between Dream and reality is a curse. So be careful, the hasty ones are already outside. — Kenjaku
At the very least, a proper fight against Yuta could have been better. Overall, Kenjaku losing was definitely expected by fans. Just as Gege went over his initial plans for Kenjaku to lose, he also tackledwhat he had originally planned for Gojo Satoru, and the answer might surprise some fans.
