Fans Are Concerned Steel Ball Run Will Get The Same Treatment As Stone Ocean

The Stone Ocean Anime Was Dropped in Two Batches

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventuresis finally getting its Part 7 animated. This was announced recently during the JOJODAY event, something fans have been waiting for since Part 6 ofJojo’s Bizarre Adventures, Stone Ocean, concluded.

Stone Ocean was released back in 2021 and it faced a few issues, which, sadly, heavily impacted the anime and its popularity. This was something that was never done with the previous 5 Parts before Stone Ocean.

This issue was down to Netflix getting the rights to the anime, and as they often do, they dropped the episodes all at once, in two batches. It can’t be understated how much this killed the hype for the anime. Prior to Stone Ocean, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures fans had what was known as Jojo Friday, where Jojo episodes would drop on a weekly basis when a part was airing.

Furthermore, dropping the series in two batches, a year apart, made things even worse. Any hype this part had was, sadly, killed by this kind of wait and the lack of weekly episode drops.

Weekly episode drops are quite important for many anime. It keeps the conversation going every week when a new episode drops. These conversations go on for months and keep the excitement for the series alive. It also gets people excited about the dates for important episodes, among other things. Overall, it’s probably the best format for an anime series to follow.

With the treatmentJolyne’s part got and the catastrophe that was Stone Oceandue to this releasing format, fans are concerned for Steel Ball Run. Could it get the same treatment?

Will Steel Ball Run Drop All Episodes At Once?

With the series so early in production, fans don’t even know if Netflix will be the one getting the rights to this part. If they do, however, it’s not impossible that it will get the same treatment.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that not all animes that are released on Netflix get the Stone Ocean Treatment. For example,Sakamoto Days was recently airing on Netflix, and was not dropped all in one go. Instead, it followed a normal anime schedule, and dropped one episode a week.

This means that, even if Netflix does acquire the rights for Steel Ball Run, they won’t necessarily drop all the episodes like they did with Stone Ocean. But, there really is no way to know for now how things will go, especially as the anime isn’t anywhere close to airing.
