JoJo’s Bizarre Adventureis one of the most popular shonen anime around, with Araki’s brilliant work receiving the adaptation it deserves courtesy of David Production’s work. The fantastic art style, great soundtrack, and pulse-pounding battles are a joy to witness.
Given the powerful antagonists featured in this series, it’s easy to see why there are some fights that the heroes fail to win, resulting in their demise. These battles are important to hammer in just how powerful an antagonist is, forcing the protagonist and his allies to do everything in their power to succeed against these overbearing foes.

As annoying as Shigechi was, he didn’t deserve to be blown apart by Kira. After their lunch bags are switched, Kira does everything possible to try and get his hand back, only for Shigechi to discover the serial killer’s murderous intent as he makes a beeline for Josuke and Okuyasu.
However, just when he reaches their classroom, Kira ambushes him and manages to keep his identity hidden at the nick of time. However, he managed to grab one of Kira’s coat buttons, giving his allies a valuable lead and ensuring that his death wasn’t in vain.
7Jonathan Joestar VS Dio Brando & Wang Chan
Jonathan Sacrifices Himself To Kill Dio, Only To Have His Body Stolen By The Villain
Jonathan Joestar is a goody-two-shoes protagonist who does everything in his power to stop Dio after his brother turns into a vampire and causes his father’s demise. He assumed that Dio had died after a massive dose of Ripple, only for the vampire to come back and haunt him on a cruise right after he had married Erina.
His sidekick, Wang Chun, helps bring Dio’s head to Jonathan, only for the hero to sacrifice himself in a bid to save his wife and the rest of the passengers. However, all his struggles were for naught, sinceDio managed to take over Jonathan’s bodyand awakened a powerful Stand power in the process.

The Fight Between Brothers Ends With Weather Report’s Demise
Weather Report is a mysterious character who strives to hunt down his memories, only to uncover the fact that he is Enrico Pucci’s twin brother. The villain had unwittingly caused the death of his beloved, leading him to embark on a quest for revenge after uncovering his memories.
While he gets the upper hand on Pucci, a car crash allows his brother to get the upper handand impale him. However, moments before his death, Weather Report manages to take his Stand Disc and give it to Jolyne, allowing him to get his revenge after his demise when Emporio uses the same to take out Enrico Pucci in the new world for good.

Kakyoin Dies After Facing Dio’s Stand But Figures Out What The Secret Is Seconds Before His Demise
Kakyoin is one of the best characters inStardust Crusaders, and it’s a shame that he meets a horrible and grisly end at the hands of Dio. The worst part is that he had no idea how he received such a mortal blow as he’s sent crashing into a water tower.
However, moments before his demise, Kakyoin realizes that Dio can control time and uses Emerald Splash to hit a nearby clock tower. This gives Joseph a valuable hint and lets everyone figure out the power ofDio’s The World.
4Foo Fighters VS Enrico Pucci
F.F. Bids A Tearful Farewell To Jolyne As She Succumbs To Whitesnake
F.F. was given a new lease on life by Jolyne. This plankton colony takes over the body of a deceased human and joins Jolyne’s group, aiding her ally in several battles.
However, she ultimately met her match against Pucci, who forced F.F. into a corner and caused her to dehydrate afterher Stand was knocked out of her body. In her dying moments, F.F. managed to acquire Jotaro’s memory disc, bringing Jolyne one step closer to reviving her father.
3Bruno Bucciarati VS Diavolo
Bruno Technically Dies In This Battle, But Is Revived In A State Of Undeath By Giorno
The first encounter against Diavolo is a tense one as Bruno pretends to hand Trish over to the mob boss, only to renege on this agreement at the last second. This doesn’t sit well with the boss, who decides to fatally punch Bruno through the stomach for his insolence.
His Stand powers were a mystery, and Bruno bleeds outbefore Giorno comes to the rescue. However, he manages to revive Bruno in a state of undeath, giving him just enough time to aid the heroes before his body wastes away.
2Narciso Anasui, Ermes Costello, Jotaro Kujo, Jolyne Cujoh, & Emporio Alnino VS Enrico Pucci
A Visual Feast That Ends With The Heroes Succumbing To Pucci’s Overpowered Stand
In one of the most high-concept fights in all of JoJo (which is saying a lot, given how insane some of the fights in the series are), the heroes are pushed to the very limit against Pucci and his evolved Made in Heaven Stand.
They’re unable to weather the assault as everyone falls one by one to the might of this Stand, with Emporio being the only person brought into the new world. However, he manages to honor the memory of his comrades byusing Weather Report to take out Pucciin one final confrontation.

One Of The Most Emotional And Brutal Battles In The Series
Wamuu is arguably the most honorable member of the Pillar Men, who takes on Caesar in close combat. The fight is a brutal one that ends with Caesar’s demise after Wamuu lands a fatal hit on Joseph’s best friend.
However, moments before his demise, Caesar manages to take the antidote from Wamuu’s lip ring. Even in his final moments, he thought about his best friend and rival, showing just how noble his character was.
