Summary
REPOdeveloper semiwork has commented on the possibility of collaborations with other franchises in the viral co-op horror game going forward. While it doesn’t seem like there are anyREPOcollaborations just around the corner, it seems like it’s certainly on the table at some point for semiwork.
REPOlaunched into Steam Early Access to massive successin February 2025, and was immediately praised for its hilarious physics-based interactions between players and the game world around them. The game has drawn plenty of positive comparisons toLethal Company, but sets itself apart with its focus on creating naturally humorous moments for players. Tons of videos aboutREPOhave gone viral online, helping to make the game an immediate success.
In a Q&A video on YouTube, developer semiwork responded to a question about potential collaborations for theco-op horror gamein the future, sharing both good news and bad news for players. The developer stated, “Currently, as you might guess, we are way too swamped with stuff… but it will be so fun to do collaborations in the future. So it’s something that we’re keeping an eye on, so to speak.”
REPO May Get Collaborations in the Future, But Developer is “Way Too Swamped” Right Now
It makes a lot of sense - right now,REPOis focused on releasing new contentfor the game while it’s still in Early Access, rounding out the entire experience for players to enjoy. Players may have to wait before semiwork is ready to focus on collaborating with other franchises inREPO, but the good news is that, in the current plan, it will happen at some point.REPOand its bizarre characters are already hilarious as they are, and the potential for crossovers is enormous.
For now, it’s probably the right move forREPOto focus onmaking the best use of Early Accesspossible. According to the game’s Steam page, the plan is to have the game in Early Access for “around 6 to 12 months” from launch, which, compared to some titles, isn’t long at all. Still, the Early Access tag buys the developer a grace period to be able to add plenty more content to the game without the full judgment of a 1.0 release. So far, so good for the title, which currently has “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam.
