In a new chat withGI.biz, Rebellion Developments CEO Jason Kingsley attributed muchof Atomfall’ssuccess to itsday one launch on Xbox Game Pass, noting that he believes word of mouth contributed to a notable boost in premium sales beyond the service. While Kingsley admitted that there was no clear data for this, he believes that the title’s Game Pass launch helped its discoverability, while Microsoft’s overall assistance also helped make the game an overnight success. While the team initially worried that launching on the premium service would majorly cannibalize sales, Kingsley notes that, while this happened to some extent, what was gained from the cost was “disproportionate.”
